I was about to chime in that you should reset the lamp hours after inserting the new bulb ... until I read that you couldn't see the menu because the bulb still doesn't turn on. Hmmm...

Have you checked all of the filters to ensure they're free of dust build-up? I'm wondering if it overheated which caused the fault.

You probably didn't reset the lamp timer after changing the lamp. All I could find in the user's manual is this: In the "utilities" sub menu, reset the lamp timer.

I have a Christie RoadRunner L8 that fires up,lamps turn on and about 5 seconds after the lamps fire up it shuts down and both the warning temp. and ready lights flash at the same time. It seems to me it must be a sensor that tells it to shut down thinking that the machine is too hot-all the fans work and all of the filters are clean and it is moving serious air any clue and if so where do I start to look for such items? check the fly-eye (diffuser) lens. there are 2 next to the lamp housing. the second one usually fries and needs replacing. while you're in there, clean it out.

yes. it is recomended to replace the filters whenever the lamp is replaced. if you have a 500w lamp, use filter #003-120118-01; 1000w lamp, filter #003-120117-01; 1200w lamp, filter #003-120116-01.

On my Vivid Lite the projector will shut off when the lamp hour count reaches expected lamp life. It will restart only long enough to read the hour meter again then shut it's self off again. You can manually reset the hour meter to continue using the same lamp.
