Paper is pulled on one side when printing

My printer keeps pulling the paper by the right side and then jams. I think it's a problem with the roller and don't know what to do. I have never had any problems with this printer before and this is really frustrating! Please help.

First look through the paper path, and make sure there are no obstructions.

Look where you put the paper in. See if you can see inside there and see the roller that turns and picks up the paper. If you can, make a mixture of alcohol and a little dish soap. Damp a rag with it, and reach in there to clean the rollers.  See if the rollers will turn manually, but be careful not to force anything.  Another way to get to the whole roller, would be to start making a print, while watching the rollers.  As soon as the rollers have turned half way, unplug the printer.  Now you can reach the other side and clean that.

There is another way to clean the rollers.  Using the alcohol mix, take a single sheet of paper, and damp one half of it with the solution.  Stick the single sheet in the paper tray, and make a print, but hold on to the paper so that it doesn't feed through the machine.  Do this several times, and the rollers turning against the wet paper should clean them.

Try to print again. It might take a few tries. The rollers have to turn against the paper and dry themselves off again.

If this works, then you need new rollers (cleaning them will only make them work temporarily and the problem will come more frequently until you change them).

Thankyou,

Hpc6280 paper caught internally

This information comes from the User Manual on pages 111-112:
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01150745.pdf

Internal paper jams on this machine tend to be in the two-sided printing accessory.

To clear a paper jam from the two-sided printing accessory:
1. Turn off the printer
2. Press in the tabs on the left and right side of the two-sided printing accessory, and remove it by pulling out from the center of the printer.
3. Gently pull the paper out of the rollers. If the paper has torn, check the rollers and wheels for small, torn pieces of paper
4. If it's still not clear, open the two-sided printing accessory by pulling up on the tabs, and remove any paper stuck inside it, then close the accessory by pressing down on the tabs until they lock into place
5. Replace the two-sided printing accessory by pushing it forward until it snaps back into place
6. Turn on the printer, and verify that it works by pushing OK to continue the job it jammed on.

MY PRINTER KEEPS JAMMING THE PAPER AS I TRY TO PRINT SOMETHING. THE PRINTER IS A LEXMARK P4350 ALL IN ONE

First of all check the quality of the paper used, is it of low thickness. if so change with a different type.
If the printing paper is good then the rollers can be moving over with different pressure on the paper making it touch unevenly and so pulling the paper differently.adjust the rollers and if possible tighten so that it touches evenly.
The roller will now move the paper without any side pulling and jamming.

Printer pulls paper to right side jams does not print

usually this indicates some foreign object on the opposite side where the paper goes in. Please check to see if you have some small pieces of paper or something else in the paper path area.

also, another possibility is that your pickup roller is missing, dirty or damaged. try cleaning it too.

thanks adi

Paper light keeps blinking and won't print I have paper and it's set as default printer

It keeps blinking because there is a paper jam. Open the front cover and take out the toner/drum and see any jammed paper. Also, you can open the back cover, pull the paper guide down to see the rollers.

If the above does not work, take off the front cover. Pull the tabs on the side. Pull out the toner/cartridge. Look for a blue tab on the top, and you need to slide that from right to left. Put everything back and see if this solves the problem.

Paper Jam!

Clean your pickup rollers with a damp terrycloth towel. What happens is the pickup rollers get lint and dust on them and then don't pick up the paper as well. Cleaning should resolve your issue.

Paper pulls to the right, jams, won't print, tried different paper still won't print

Hi,
Remove the jammed paper. Unplug the printer from the mains and PC. Inspect the rollers, etc for tiny paper piece(s) that may be stuck, or other debris. Try to clean rollers and make sure they are dry.
Keep printer unplugged for about 2 minutes and replug and try a test print.
Also make sure that you have waited long enough for the printer to heat up before giving a print job.
Finally, it could be an issue with the paper sensor. If this is the case, you will probably have to take the printer in for servicing..

Hope that helps!

PAPER JAM

Rotate tires. Pull out paper tray. Pull down on red low paper indicator at left bottom. Two rollers come down on axel near center. I pulled off the rubber tire like roller, then twisted the roller inside out and reinstalled it with the fresh side out.
If tires dry out again will probably buy new ones from ebay.

Paper Jam HP LaserJet 1020

Papper never realy "jams" the problene is usualy that the paper is late reaching the next paper sensor. What i would sugest is that you clean the paper pickup roller it is usualy in the shape of a D. Clean it with dishwassing soap dont use water just clean soap rub it on with a clean cloth until the roller is dry so use a small amount. This should solve your prbleme.

Paper only being taken in on one side.

In some printers there is a roller which can be removed. Once the roller is removed it should be possible to remove any thing which would prevent the roller pulling the paper through evenly.
