CLEAN INSTALL needed here.
This is a nice little FREE utility you can try. Install Microsoft "Windows Installer CleanUp Utility" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/en-us If you find (PROGRAM NAME) listed just hit the delete button. Then do the normal uninstall. Try un-installing again, but this time after the un-install, shut down completely for at least 30 seconds, and then restart. Then do a search for 'all files and folders' - search for both Office and then Word, with the options "Search system folders", "Search hidden files and folders" and "Search subfolders" checked. Delete all of those files found. You should do this search and delete whenever you un-install any programs. It will remove lots and lots of leftover junk files and corrupted files taking up room on your hard drive. It will also give you a "clean install" when you reinstall or install an updated program. (Do this ESPECIALLY when updating to a NEW anti-virus programs and “Internet Security Suite” programs such as McAfee or Norton etc.) BEFORE RE-INSTALLING Office or MS Word Download and install "Registry Mechanic" then do the updates prior to running it and removing anything for the first time. This will get rid of all your current Registry errors, prior to installing or reinstalling.

what are facing is a problem caused by a virus that either destroys files that support .exe applications to run or it replaces which makes your machine unstable. my first solution to you is to repair your operating system using the operating system cd. secondly, if that doesn't work please try installing a second os on your system and then you do a dual booting. u then delete the folder of the previous os. if that does not work u backup ur files and then you format ur system with a new os
