Toshiba Satellite L25 series laptop doesn't power on

I have a Toshiba Satellite L25 series laptop that just won't turn on. I've tried taking parts off to see if anything is causing a short, but I've gone down to no screen, no wifi, no fan, no memory, no HD, no DVD, no battery and I still have the same problem. As I use the plug to feed it power, when I try to turn it on the power light comes on for about one second, and then goes off. I didn't hear any drives or fans power up when I had it plugged in as I tried this. I'm beginning to think it's a chip on the MB. Any suggestions?

I've installed 2 gigs of ram and it won't recognize the second stick.

The L25 series laptops can take a maximum of 2GB of memory, 1GB per slot. It should be DD2 PC-5300 spec RAM. Below is some specifications the memory should meet alongst with a compatible part number.
Part #: CT540972 • DDR2 PC2-5300 • CL=5 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR2-667 • 1.8V • 128Meg x 64

I changed the hard drive in my toshiba satellite L25 now it will not power on

Did you take out the battery when you changed the hard drive. It still has power in the circuits when the battery is in. You might have fried it. I would try taking out the battery and push the power button a few times (to discharge any power in the board) then make sure the hard drive is inserted properly. Good luck.

Toshiba laptop power cable won't charge battery

I had the same problem with my HP laptop some years ago. you have a broken cable/cord and it is the part that is permanently attached with your power pack. If you look at the cord that plugs into your laptop, you can be able to see the faulty part of it. it is usually very flexible or swollen. You can either take it to an electrical technician to change that part of the cord. Your power pack is still ok, but have the technician to check it out first before you change the cord. Else, you may have to get another power pack. below is the full specification of the power pack that is recommended for your laptop.
