Our dishwasher has issues. Most of the time, it won't heat the water and therefore all the dishes come out cold and wet, especially anything plastic. Occasionally it will do a hot wash and everything is fine, but only about 10% of the time. Doesn't matter what cycle you put it on either. If the heater was bung, surely it would never heat at all, which is not the case. Please help.

It could be a motor or a pump issue. The dishwasher has a motor that attached to a pump which forces the water up into the sprayer arms and during the drain cycle, it pushes the water out of the dishwasher. The motor (and pump) located beneath the dishwasher. Check if motor spins. In case it spins, the problem is with the pump ,in case it doesn't spin it could be a motor problem or a motor and pump problem. Good luck

sounds like wash motor is not going . it will fill and control thinks motor is working . then it will drain wash water / ( drain pump is a different motor ) and then refill and so on .. never washes but fills and drains and heats. ( look for leakage under the motor i'm sure you will find some ..

Found I had no hot water in my Dishlex DX302 and did a google search and
found this page.
My problem was found to be the same as the others; one of the solder
joints on the relay on the control board had arced off.
You could see the burn mark on the board and cover where it had been
arcing.
Soldered it back together, and now it seems to be going good again.
Now my only problem is a damaged door seal, which means a small water
leak; I have used part of a rubber glove to bridge the gap, and it
reduces the water leak.

Thanks for suggestions people. After some further trawling, I thought I'd check out the PCB as there were a few comments on the problem relating to dry solder joints. Bought myself a $15 soldering iron and re-soldered a few points, and like magic, it's working again. Visually, the PCB looked fine, but obviously something in there wasn't quite connecting. Thanks for comments though.
