SOURCE: heat stopped working in 2000 pontiac sunfire

With blower on high and tempature to max heat check to see if you have good air flow in all mode selections (defrost, vent, floor etc.). If so and you still have no heat then check heater core hose going from engine to inside car to heater core with vehicle running and coolant tempature about half on guage. If both hoses are hot and coolant in radiator/overflow bottle is full then hot cold blend door is stuck in cold position. If coolant level is low you will get no heat, check coolant level first.

Pontiac sunfire overheating

hello! I had the same problem with my 2000 Pontiac Sunfire... there might be one of these 2 problems with it.... maybe the Heater Core is jammed and the coolant dosen't flow thru the engine to cool it off, or the water pump is defective.... does the heating works or not? if yes, the water pump is defect, if not, the heater core is jammed, try a ''radiator hose cleaner'' (sold in Napa's or Carquest..) it will act as a kind of ''decloaker''.. if works, good! 15$ solution... if not, replace Heater Core... ~150$

My ac was working fine then one day it stopped and now only hot air blows out the mechanic said the ac is fine and works good but there is a vent door that switches the ac to heater and he said it was...

There is a blender that controls the air flow to go through the heater core for heat, and the evaporator for AC. It very well could be stuck.

You maybe able to try and get it to get unstuck by running the cars AC and switching from heat to AC back and forth and see if it gets unstuck. Just turn it on full blast and go from heat to cool.

If that fails, then you may need to service it. There should be a Lever Marked VENT under the dash, usually by the Brake and other pedals on the Driver's Side. Close the VENT and that will stop the Air from coming in and leave the A/C Blowing through the outlets(Vents).

I also read this online if you have an electronic climate control. "On climate control press off and heat button and let go quickly. Then press automatic. The display will start rotating eventually displaying a code 025,125 , 024 etc. Then press defrost to stop. You may hear blend door operating atb that time. It worked for my climate control."

I smell antifreeze when the heat is on. The inside of the windshield is fogging up and will not clear and I am starting to get smoke coming through the vent. I have a 2006 Pontiac Torrent

usually this means a faulty heater core. mechanic labor guide calls for 5.2 hours plus an ac recharge. the dealer list price for the part is $190.10 plus anti-freeze.

How do you replace the bulbs on a 2002 pontiac sunfire heater ac panel?

You have to pop off the front bezel surrounding tat area it should pull straight out towards you it uses tension clips I think there might be 2 screws down at the bottom it you pull out the ashtray or cupholder area, then remove the 7mm small bolts that hold in the HVAC controls.
