Question about OKI MICROLINE 320 Turbo Matrix Printer
All of a sudden the printer is not pressing hard enough or something to go through our 4 copies of invoices. I have new paper, new ink and think I have cleaned around print head pretty well.
Never had a problem before, just started.
You might check the printhead positioning- how close the printhead is positioned to the platen. This is adjustable, often by a lever at one end of the bar the printhead rides on. It should be adjusted as close as will allow free movement of the copies. Obviously, this adjustment will be farther away than for only single sheet (no copies).
Otherwise, perhaps the printhead needs cleaning at the "noseend" -where it contacts the paper. Ink will build up here, and harden a bit, causing weak/no movement of the striking wires. I have removed the printhead, and soaked the noseend in rubbing alcohol, or it could also be cleaned with a spray cleaner such as Chemtronics Wash. Don't wear good clothes if you work with the printhead in this way. Ink can get all over everything in short order.
