My logitech Z-5 speakers work fine, then when I plug working headphones into them (I have tried two different sets) no sound comes out of the speaker or the headphones. I have messed with the vista sound settings in the control panel but that doesn't help. Thanks.
is it a line out or headphone out? there is a difference between the two in how they amplify the signal. Is the problem in the speakers or with the connection to your computer? is it a line out or headphone out? there is a difference between the two in how they amplify the signal. These are analog speakers and do not need a driver. First, make sure they're plugged into the speaker/headphone jack and not the microphone jack. Second, make sure the computer's sound output is enabled and set the headphone/speaker jack. Third, verify that the sound output is working by plugging in a headphone set or a different pair of speakers. If the computer sound checks out, the speaker cable is bad or the power supply is not working.
The main reason why the rear speakers are not working because the sound you are playing are not surround sound or a not a stereo sound and check the setting of your speaker. There is an output sound in your speaker but to low because of the set up of your speakers. Try to set it in Hall, Church, or any set up you will notice that there is difference with there volume in every set up.
Try different speakers which you know are working if possible.
If the good speakers are also not working, then your Logitech speakers may be ok. Try plugging them into a different device such as iPod headphone jack, stereo headphone jack, etc.
Let me know how you go.
Hope this helps,
Benji
Could there be an electrical short in the speakers line?Could you return them for a refund? Also did the speakers come with the logitech computer system? Have the speaker system bench tested. Then go out and buy a new pair.
Try plugging in some headphones to the right satellite, unplugging them and turning the speakers off and on. This worked for me, and is probably the switch getting stuck between headphones & normal speakers.
Hi, I had the same exact problem. The speakers wouldn't work but sound came out of the headphone jack.
To fix my problem, i opened up the subwoofer unit and checked the fuse on the circuit board which seemed fine. Then i had a look at the wiring on the other side of the circuit board and noticed one of the wiring had fried leaving a gap in the connection and exposing the copper wiring. So i just soldered the two bits of wire together. Works fine now!
I just had to be careful when i finished soldering that the exposed wire wouldn't touch any of the other connections. I insulated the wires with a glue gun to keep it all in place.
hope this helps.
yes thats the fact when you plug a headphone into any speakers the head phone will be the only one to function the speaker stops thta the circuit technically which will break the connection of power to speaker if you plug head phone
