This could be a lot of things. We'll start at the top. First we'll check your hard drive capacity. Open my computer=> right click properties. You'll see a pie chart there showing hard drive capacity and amount used. make sure you have at least 80% free space. While you are there click on disk clean up. When the window with the list appears, (takes a moment) check all boxes except for the last 2 then click ok. we'll stop there, let me know if there is any improvement.

Window hanging

Wait a few minutes for the non-responding program to start responding again. Be patient and give it some time. This is the easiest way to salvage any work that you did not save before the freeze. If, after waiting, the computer does not unfreeze, move to the next step.
Press and hold the "Ctrl", "Alt" and "Del" buttons in that order. This may unfreeze the computer, or bring up an option to restart, shut down or open the task manager. Open the task manager and note if a program is listed as "not responding." If there is one, click that program title and click "end task." The computer will end that task and break it out of the freeze. If this does not work, open task manager and go to "processes." Look for a process toward the top of the list that is using a large amount of resources. The number next to the process indicates how much of the resources are being allocated for that program. Pick one with the highest number (towards the top of the list) and choose "end process." If your computer still is not unfrozen, move to the next step.
Change the power source of your laptop. For example, if the laptop was plugged in to the wall, remove the plug and allow it to run on battery power. If this does not work, proceed to the next step.
Remove any devices, such as thumb drives or memory cards, that are plugged into the laptop. If this does not unfreeze the computer, move to the next step.
Close the lid of your laptop. Open the lid again. This may snap the computer out of its frozen state and back to the login screen. It may also put the computer into hibernate mode. If this does not work, move to the next step.
Hit the power button. This might bring up a menu asking you if you want to restart or shut down. At this point you will need to restart or shut down the computer. You will most likely lose what you were working on, unless the program has a recovery process to save your work if this situation arises. If the menu does not pop up, hold the power button until the computer shuts down. Wait 30 seconds, then boot the computer up again

What are the implications of using force quit on a mac 10.6?I want a quick way to shut down my mac?by using force quit does the hard drive shut down properly?

Hi,

Force quit usually shuts down an app that is not responding and not your Mac. Should be no implications on the Mac itself - is the equivalent of using task manager to end a program on Windows.

If your Mac won't shut down, just hold the power button in for about 7 seconds. Should not cause any damage other than you losing any unsaved information.

Hope that helps, pls rate the solution

Message That Keeps poping up google is not responding. it reads "kill pages" or wait

It is crash message that appears in Google Chrome. It is more similar to End now or Cancel message that appears in Windows XP when you try to close a not responding process. You can kill pages which will close the chrome. Or you can wait for the browser to regain its old pages and start working normally. Generally,i choose Kill Pages and restart the browser. Though there are chances you might lose old webpages you had kept opened.

Cheers!!!

Keyless remotes not working

Try reprogramming the remotes. Here are the instructions for the procedure. Hope it helps. Cobra!
Programming NOTE: All keyless entry remote transmitters (15K601) must be programmed at the same time.
NOTE: To program (or reprogram) the keyless entry remote transmitters into the RAP module, perform the following steps:
  1. Make sure that the anti-theft system is not armed or triggered.
  1. Turn the ignition switch (11572) from OFF to RUN eight times within ten seconds, ending in RUN. If the RAP module has successfully entered program mode, it will lock and then unlock all doors.
  1. Within 20 seconds, press any button on a keyless entry remote transmitter, and the doors will lock and then unlock to confirm that each keyless entry remote transmitter has been programmed. Repeat this step for each transmitter.
  1. If the door locks do not respond for any keyless entry remote transmitter, wait several seconds and press the button again. If the door locks still fail to respond, refer to Inspection and Verification.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, or wait up to 20 seconds after step 2, to exit program mode. If a keyless entry remote transmitter has been programmed (or reprogrammed), the RAP module will lock and unlock all doors one last time to confirm.

Slow performance. I have to wait much time to use my PC

Sounds like you have alot of adware and or spyware on your machine. Look up a free scanner called adaware-se and do a scan to see if anything is found. Typically, adware, spyware will install numerous files on a pc without your consent, naturally not knowing it is happening. If you need further assistance, I'll be more than glad to help.
