NO TAIL LIGHTS 1996 F450

tail lights work off different wire than brakes hazards, etc. .It could be in the wiring, or simply the tail light side of the bulb itself has blown. Check the bulbs, it will have to separate filaments, if one of them is burnt into, tail lights will not work

I replaced a Lennox DSL-450LX heat pump thermostat with a Honeywell RTH3100C. Everything works except the gas does not ignite when set to emergency heat. The Lennox was wired as follows: W = white wire Y1...

Hi, If indeed you do have a heat pump, there wouldn't be any gas involved as a heat pump runs on freon with a reversing valve and heat strips for aux and emerg. heat. For gas electric operation thermostat terminals are rc to rh with factory jumper. Red wire to either.W to W for Heat, Y to Y for cooling G to G for Fan. If you have a blue, you wont need it unless this is a commercial stat useing a common for the Led lights on the stat. The unit will get its 24volts through R terminal in combination with y,w,and,g. Cant be a heat-pump if you have a gas furnace.Wrong t-stat. You need a gas /elect stat. And on a 24volt programmable t-stat, the batterys are used for the program only.If the batterys die, than you will loose the program on most residential stats. On commercial stats with the common in play, when batters die the stat defaults back to the factory settings. If you had a Lennox heat-pump stat on a gas/elect unit, you need to change it. Someone was using what they had on hand. Let me know if this has helped you.I will be here if you need me. Sincerely,

MACHINE TURNS ON FOR 30 SECONDS AND LOUD CRAKLING SOUND HAPPENS THEN MACHINE TURNS OFF...

Sounds like the power is arcing, Probably broken porcelain insulators. I wouldn't recommend trying to use it, there is some really high voltage in there. Replace it or send it out for repair.

Vaillant boiler - heating OK, but no hot water.

Most likey problem is the diverter valve, not energising fully. This in turn will not move the little plastic lever arm that actuates the microswitch on the side, sending the signal to ignite.

You can buy a diaghram kit from most local plumb centres, you need to replace the diaghram and seals, don't forget the silicon grease to ensure the plunger doesnt stick. Kits less than a tenner.

You should have noticed before it stopped working completely the water had reduced in temperature before the weeks it failed.

To make sure it is a diverter valve fault, depress the microswitch if you can, when the hot water is flowing and hey presto the demand for hot water light should shine.

Alpine XL-15 fan has stopped working

Hello night light,

How you proceed is going to depend on how comfortable you are taking it apart.

Given it's age and purchase condition, warranty isn't an issue. You will either be able to dis-assemble the purifier and try taking the motor apart and reassembling, or you can find a replacement motor (I've seen some on the web, they start at ~$50).

Another possibility is that the fan pot (the rotary switch that the knob turns to adjust the fan speed) may be out. If you have a multi-meter, see if you can get a signal through (when it's all the way open). If not, try replacing that first. Parts are available onthe web, I can't advertise per FixYa's terms of use.

Hope this helps.

How to reset air purifier

(from the manual) Turn off the unit. Look just below the last light on the "filter change indicater meter". You'll see a very small hole and the words "reset". Use a sharp object, such as the end of a paper clip (opened up) and stick the paper clip or sharp object into the hole. This is suppose to reset the unit. However, I have heard of cases when people of done what I just described but the indicator late still will not reside to green. I hope this helps you.

What does a blinking blue light indicate?

"A blinking light indicates when the blades should be wiped clean with a damp cloth." I actually had a "handyman" contract last year to visit an elderly gentleman once a month and clean all 9 of his Ionic Breeze GP air purifiers. Before I did that for him, they would make hissing noises and he really didn't like that. Here's how to clean the operative compnents of these machines: First, unplug the machine and place on a work surface, such as a table or kitchen counter. Second, remove the metal blade insert from the top by gripping the release tab and lifting it up and out. Also remove the front and back grilles by pressing on the plastic tab at the bottom and lifting up on them. Third, use a damp rag or paper towel to wipe the three metal blades clean. Do not immerse this assembly in water, because it has to be completely dry when re-installing it in the machine. Fourth, use a small piece of damp paper towel to VERY GENTLY wipe clean the two thin wires inside the unit. These are located behind the two rubbery flat blades just inside the unit and can be accessed from the front side. You won't damage these rubbery flat blades by pushing your hand gently between them, but be VERY CAREFUL when wiping the wires clean. (This step is important, as the wires must be clean.) Fifth, using another bit of damp paper towel, carefully clean the wire attached to the inside of the front grille. Dry this off with a dry bit of paper towel, then clean any accumulated dirt off the front & back grilles. Check the metal contact near the bottom of the front grille (attached to the wire) to verify that it's clean and will make good electrical contact. Sixth, pick the unit up and turn it upside-down & right-side up about 6 to 8 times. The two wires inside have plastic beads on them that slide up and down the wires. This brushes any bits of leftover dust or lint off of the wires. (Again, these wires must be VERY clean.) Seventh, replace the front and back plastic grilles by placing them in their slots and sliding them down to snap into place. Verify that the assembly with the three metal blades is COMPLETELY dry, using a hair dryer if necessary to dry off damp areas, then slide it back into place from the top of the machine. Now the cleaning process is done, so plug the unit in and turn it on to test operation. If it makes ANY noise, then some component is not completely cleaned off, or still has a presence of moisture, which must be completely dried off before the machine is ready for operation. Hope this helps! ;)
