Re: Printer issues

If you are using Glossy paper, when you go to print make sure to go into the printer Properties from the Print dialog box and select Glossy paper in the type. This will put the printer into it's highest print quality mode.

So from most windows applications, it would be :-
CTRL-P (to print with dialog box for changes)
Click on Properties
Select a Media type of glossy photo paper
Select standard or high print quality.

p.s. you may need to experiment which if the media types gives you best quality for the paper your using, unless it's Canon paper and then just match it up.

Can i hook up my printer to my wireless router and if i can how do i tell it to print when i need it to print

The iP6310D can't connect to the wireless router directly. It has a USB port and an optional blue-tooth receiver.
If you connect the printer to one computer, you may be able to share it using that computer as a server. Install the printer software on all of the machines. For the software, see . For Windows 7 and 8, if you set up a Homegroup, enable sharing for the printer on the computer that it is directly connected to. Then use Add a Printer command from the Devices and Printers Control Panel option to locate networked printers. For other OS options, you'll need to make sure that the computers are in the same workgroup. (See the Network set-up information.) Then add a network printer.
If your wireless router has a USB port, you may be able to connect the printer to the router. Again install the printer software on each computer. Then use the router's software to add a printer on the computer. (For Linksys routers, that is the Cisco Connect software. Some routers may not offer this software for all OS's or for all printers.)

A similar option is a print server connected to the USB port of the printer. You will need to check the specifications for each one. There are some that only work on select printers.
Once the software (the printer driver and then the network software/shared printer is set up), then any program should be able to print following the File > Print command.
Please add a comment with your OS and/or router model, I'll try to walk you through setting up a shared printer or a USB connection on the router.

Cindy Wells
(Note: I have a USB printer connected and a wired network printer to a Cisco router. My only issue is that I get a printer error with every print job. The printers print the documents anyway. The error is due to the printers not responding to the software as fast as if it were a direct connection.)

Not printing properly

Print heads need to be cleaned cause they are clogged which is why even replacing the cartridges is not fixing the problem.

If the printhead can't be cleaned then a new printer is in order.

I hook up camera and photo printer press print and camera screen say no print head I just put new cartrigdes it worked fine yesterday , its like the printer is froze, I can't even run a head alignment

You need a new printhead, they can be just like a light bulb sometimes, in that they work fine one time and the next time you go to use it it's burned out.

Canon iP6310D does not print text in black

1 reason for this may be that there is no ink in the cartridge
2)the inkhole is blocked

You may need to do a clean and nozzle check till the ink runs and it prints the check pattern using black. or replace the cartridge

Can i use pg-40 cartridge in my printer

No, you can't. I have the same printer and tried to save a buck at Costco, where they sell a 41 and two 40's in bulk. However, the 40 wouldn't fit into the slot because the ridges are slightly different. Several online print websites list the 40 as being compatible, but it would fit on my iP6310D.
Take the 40 back and go somewhere that sells both the 41 and the 40.

Anyone who wants to buy 1 opened (but unused) and 1 unopened 40-ink cartridge, please email and I can either sell directly to you or put them on ebay. Thanks!

Printing pictures

If your normal print looks OK, make sure that you are printing your pictures on the correct side of the photo paper. Most photo paper will only print properly on one side. If you print on the other side, the image looks very grainy and faded, and the ink will still be quite wet when it comes out of the printer.

Canon printer Pixmaip6310D

If your using regular cartridges and not the FINE ones, make sure put full cartridges in or indicator will read incorrectly. If you haven't gotten any error messages and said proceed anyway ( you'd know because it would've told you that this would disable your ink monitor), just put in the full cartridges and do a print head alignment and this should solve your problem.

Okic3200n lazer jet printer

Best results will be if the paper you are using is designed for use in this machine and you print with the driver knowing paper type and using a direct flat paper path

Use The bypass tray (and you can also use face up delivery tray ) and make sure you tell printer what paper type it is using ie control panel, printers, preferences, paper type set to photo/gloosy or even card stock if it is thick.

Ensure feed rollers are clean, and paper is good quality
