Letter between c and b wont work! its the paste code key also and I dont recall using it to paste anything Whmat's your problem?

Of course, it wont work because you used a wrong short cut key. The correct short cut command for copying is press the control C simultaneously then for pasting it, it should control V simultaneously. Try it again using the right short cut command. Good luck!

What are the four main keys of the keyboard

There is't really such a thing as four main keys. Ctrl, Alt, Shift and esc/del are used a lot for shortcuts.
Comment back to clarrify what your talking about if this doesn't not answer your question.

How can I paste text using just keyboard (if paste icon does not work)?

Highlight the text you want by holding down the left mouse button and dragging across until you reach the end of your selection. Then press CTRL-C to copy the selection to the clipboard and leave the text in place, or CTRL-X to copy the selected text to the clipboard and remove it (cut it) from the document. Copying is handy if you want to duplicate the text somewhere, and cutting is for when you want to move it to some other place. Once you've copied or cut text to the clipboard, put the cursor where you want to paste it and press CTRL-V. This will insert the text from the clipboard at that location. The text is still on the clipboard, so you can move the cursor and CTRL-V to paste it in other places as well.

Keyboard is locked

You don't mention which operating system - that can make a difference.
I think this is for XP:

How it might have gotten locked:
Pressing Windows key + L or
Holding down SHIFT key > 8 seconds
Press CTRL-ALT-DEL then lock computer or switch user.

To unlock: press CTRL-ALT-DEL & choose unlock. May ask for a password; if you haven't set one try just pressing ENTER.
Go to start and then settings, then control panel and then finallyaccessibility options. Make sure all the 3 boxes are unchecked.
