Emerson Smartset Radio Model CKS2288 (by 3 users)

posted by bland1897 on Oct 29, 2007

I have an older model clock radio (ck s2288) and now that daylight savings times have changed, is there a way to reset to correspond with the new dates-times?

Is there any way to fix this problem without setting the time wrong - until the new time kicks in.

The time on the clock did not automatically update for the new daylight saving change date. I reset the time manually, but I expect the time will change again when the old daylight saving time change date occurs (the first Sunday of April) This happens to our older model. A newer model that we own did kick in correctly.

I have a radio that is a couple of years old and with the changes to the change of time it does not automatically change. I can change it manually but now my problem is the date. On Sunday it says Monday and the alarm will work until it comes to Friday and the clock will say Saturday and we will be with out an alarm. Please respond when a solution is found to
bhayduk@aol.com.

Thank you

The Daylight Saving dates appear to be hard-coded per the manual:

Start of Daylight Saving Time:
At 1:59.59 AM on the first Sunday in April, the clock will automatically advance to 3:00 AM.
End of Daylight Saving Time:
At 2:59.59 AM on the last Sunday in October, the clock will automatically reset to 2:00 AM.

So the easiest thing to do is to change your time zone up or down one for the period between the new DST date and the old -- or you can buy a new SmartSet for about $15. The newer ones do not have the same problem.

I just adjust the alarms to be off the same difference until the time changes on it's own and then readjust the alarm. We usually have many alarms settings anyway what is two more. LOL
