Question about Hunter Fans
I installed the new universal remote and since then periodically I find the fan on when I have not turned it on. I have also installed a wireless computer router on the same circuit, so I'm not sure what could be going on.
I have a hampton bay ceiling fan with light fixture all connected to a wall switch and controled by a remote. The light does not work any more and I have replaced the bulb with three different light bulbs and it still won't work. There is a green wire coming off the bracket but there is no ground wire coming in from above. There are two wires coming in from above ( the box in the Attic)
one white and one black and they are connected properly. All the wires are taged from the remote receiver, the fan and the light and are correctly connected. Any suggestions?

Suggest going to Lowe's (or other appliance dealers who sell ceiling fans) and get one of their wireless interfaces -- I have two in my house... These can be found in the ceiling fan area, probably need to talk to someone as they have several different models...
You will need to rewire the fan slightly, but the diagram for the wireless interface is pretty straight forward if you know anything about wiring...
The interface has two parts -- the receiver which slips into the yoke holding up the ceiling fan, and the handheld controller (there are other units, but I am assuming this is what you wanted...)
hope this helps... Pablo, Kansas City

Think we've figured out that a neighbor has the same remote code as we do and we will have to change our code. (This fan is out on our screened porch and the homes are close together here.)

SOURCE: remote controlled ceiling fan
unplug the fan then remove the batteries from the remote then plug the fan back in and, reinstall the batteries; this resets the fan control
