Been having problems for about 3 weeks now. It would come on for a while, then next time it would not. The small light on the bottom right on the front comes on, but then goes out. Screen is black. Anything I can try?

My screen went black after a crash, then hard start. Has not come back to life - I have tried everything. Only sign of life is little light. The monitor registers on computer as being there.

Dudes, I'm having same problem! My monitor just went off last week after a year of warranty. There was no hope although i bring the monitor to the Genius Bar and tried another power brick. I was so frustrated to hear the repair cost could be ~$400 from Apple. It's ridiculous! I would rather try to fix it myself.

Is there any where that I could find the board or spare parts for my 23" Apple Cinema HD Display? I believe my issue might caused by the thunder storm that happened last week. Thank so much

mine just started doing this also... hope it is just the monitor and not the new Mac pro... that would really piss me off. i have started searching for a solution, but have found nothing yet.

same thing.... when I boot up the light on the monitor blinks but the screen stays blank.

I have had the same problem for about the last two or three weeks. I use SuperDuper to back up every evening and have it shut down my MacPro when finishing. When I start my computer in the morning, the computer starts but my 23" Apple Cinema Display remains black. The little light on the lower right comes on, but not the monitor. After shutting down and restarting several times, it will come on. I had to restart it about five or six time this morning before the monitor would come on. This site is the only place I have been able to find any mention of the problem.

Also, for the last several weeks, when the monitor came on, the normal desktop image would not completely cover the monitor, but would have some kind of weird black and white pattern around the perimeter of the monitor. I could make it go away by "grabbing" a window and move it around, thus "wiping away" the black and white background. Weird.

I noticed that a couple of people replaced the power supply, adapter,or  "brick" (I assume they are all the same thing). Can I do that myself?

i have the same problem--seems like it may be the on/off switch. did any of u solve the problem? went to the local Apple store & they tried different power sources etc. same problem-then they said it would be $400 to repair it regardless of whether it was a $10 switch replacement or replacing the entire screen-great approach for engendering Apple loyalty!

My 23" ACD has been having trouble "waking up" from sleep mode lately.  I usually had to hold the power button on my Mac Pro for a couple of seconds to get the computer to wake up.  Today that didn't work.  I shut off the computer and rebooted.  Then, no display or light on the display.  I plugged display into another power source and light on the display came on for 1 second and then went out.

I have an appointment with Apple store tech tomorrow.  Wish me luck!

I've changed the power adaptor and still the same. Any other suggestions?

Sounds like the 90w power adaptor. This has happened to my 23" Apple monitor several times. (I'm on my third 90 watt "brick"!) It seems to happen after about one year of use. All you can do in the meantime is never shut down or let the monitor go to sleep.

About 2 weeks ago my check engine light came turned on so i drove home and told my dad about it but when we turned the car on it did not flash. But the the next 2 days it stayed on and the next morning...

Any time you get any check light, you should
be at a repair in a couple of days, or at least
check for codes. Still need it diagnosed and
repaired in a week

Otherwise you waste gas, polute the air or could
cause some damage,as you don't know what the issue
is that set the light

The fact the check light went out, doesn't mean
the problem went away.

Don't clear any codes you find, their needed to diagnose
the system faults
