In doing a general google with the brand/model, there are many things that come up about issues. You need to contact http://www.geappliances.com/service_and_support/contact/form_email.htm. They state their product is backed by GE. Many places sell this, but look for one with GE products. You might have an appliance store close by with that information.
SOURCE: oven not getting hot
The fan oven element needs to be replaced in the Hotpoint 6150 cooker.
Access is by removing the inner rear cover of the oven, there you will see the element.
Replace with a new one.
It is possible the base element is faulty in the top oven of the Hotpoint EW95,
The other possibility is that the high speed grill element is only part working. You need to check both these elements.
If the fan is working o/k in the main oven , but not getting hot, then you need to replace the element.
If it does heat, then it could be a faulty thermostat or possibly selector switch.
Unless you have a good working knowledge of electrics and know how to use a meter, then I would suggest you call some one in.
Plz rate my solution
Thanks.
SOURCE: my hotpoint ew61 double oven doesnt come up to
If it is heating, but not getting hot enough, then it is possible the thermostat is cutting the element off too soon, in this event, you will need to replace the thermostat.
If it is not heating at all , then the element is probably faulty.
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.
SOURCE: Hotpoint BU62 double oven, no grill functioning
keep turning the oven/grill selector past the temperature settings, it feels like it won't go any further but it does!
SOURCE: I have a Hotpoint dy46
The Main Oven temperature control which is the knob at the right of clock is a thermostat and is working like an electrical switch. So you need to replace the temperature control. If you have already replaced the element then you can easily remove the temperature control knob. Just take care to note the wire where each one goes and a very simple way just take a photo. The red light you mention is a pilot light which mean when is on the thermostat control is switch on so power goes to the element.
