Routers will not show up in Device Manager. Because there is no direct connection to the router since it's management is done via a web based interface, it is not part of your computer's hardware.

SOURCE: WEP Encryption

It is recommended to enable encryption on your wireless router before your wireless network adapters. Please establish wireless connectivity before enabling encryption. Note: Your network will slow down and wireless signal may degrade when enabling encryption due to the added overhead. Step 1 Log into the web configuration of the router by opening up a web browser and typing in the IP address of the router (192.168.0.1). Step 2 Enter your username (admin) and your password (blank by default). Click OK . Click the Home tab and click the Wireless button on the left hand side of the screen. Step 3 Select Enable next to the WEP radio buttons. For WEP encryption select 64, 128, or 256-bit encryption. For the Key type select HEX. If you have an option for Authentication type, select Shared Key. Step 4 Select Key 1. Enter a Hex encryption key that you make up. The length of the encryption key will depend on what you selected under WEP Encryption. 64-bit encryption 10 characters 128-bit encryption 26 characters 256-bit encryption 58 characters (available on DI-614+ only) The encryption key is HEX, meaning 0-9 and A-F are valid characters. For example, A4583DFF1A (64-bit HEX key). Step 5 Click on the Apply button then click on the Continue button to save your settings. Note: If using non-D-Link adapters, please refer to the manufacturer´s documentation on enabling encryption.

SOURCE: D-Link DI-624 wireless router is not working after firmware upgrade try

Try to unplug the router and hold in reset button for 30 seconds see if that works, you probably did that already, But if you can get your computer to respond you should be able to open software Bios. and do your firmware update from there. If not I believe a hard reset is with the router plugged in and holding reset button for 30 seconds, I don't know I sure hope that resets it for you. Thanks take care

Hp Pavilion dv6929nr not connected with D-link DI-624

There are a number of factors that can cause the signal of your access point to deteriorate and the performance of your network to fall under par. Practically any appliance that operates on the same frequency level (2.4 GHz) as 802.11b or 802.11g can cause interference with your wireless network. Be sure to keep cordless phones, microwaves and other electrical equipment at least 1m away from the access point. Try changing channels on the access point and test it out on one of the clients. To change the radio channel on the access point login to the configuration (usually a web based interface) and go to the Wireless Settings (will vary depending on vendor) section, select a different channel and save settings. On the client, go to Device Manager, right click your wireless network adapter and go to Properties. In the advanced tab select the Channel Property and change the Value to the same number as the one you chose on the Access Point. Disable and then re-enable the wireless connection. Also you can try by select the speed manually 802.11b or 11Mbps on your laptop wireless properties.

I need to configure my d-link for wow downloader

To configure D-Link DI-624 Wi-Fi access point to work with BitTorrent you have several options. One of them is to use trigger ports.
Steps to follow:
  1. Open web control panel of D-Link DI-624 by connecting to http://192.168.0.1 (this is default direction, which can be changed by administrator).
  2. Enter login and password for administrator. Default login for administrator is admin.
  3. Go to Advanced, select Applications.
  4. In Applications screen:
    1. Check Enabled.
    2. Fill BitTorrent in Name.
    3. In Trigger Port put 6881 and 6999.
    4. In Trigger Type select TCP.
    5. In Public Port put 6881-6999.
    6. In Public Type select TCP.
    7. Press Apply.
  5. The DI-624 will reboot.
Now you can use BitTorrent from any computer on both LAN and WLAN local networks in automatic way.
BitTornado Setup If you use latest experimental BitTornado client you can give a good use toUniversal Plug and Play (UPnP). You just need to enable UPnP on D-Link DI-624 and BitTornado will work on any computer in your local network without any requiered intervention from your part.

  1. Run BitTornado
  2. Click on Prefs
  3. Locate UPnP Port Forwarding and select type1 (fast)
In DI-624:
  1. Log in as administrator
  2. Open Tools (main menu)
  3. Select Misc. on the left
  4. Locate UPNP Settings and select Enabled
