Most important in such a case is a perfect observation. So remove power and look for the motor drive. Manually check for the drive turning the pulley of the motor , check if there is any jamming or mechanical fault in the drive shaft , if so you will need to reset - over haul - this section.
sounds like you have a transmission problem. yes, i said transmission. washers have a centrifical gearing system which acts like a transmission. what you describe sounds like a bad bearing. definately a job for the repairman. good luck
This sounds like the same problem I had with my 887-327. It seems that coins can fall into the water pump from the bottom of the drum. I had to pull the water pump off the direct drive and turn the blades until the dimes came out. After I reinstalled the pump everything was quite again.
This is probably the drive belt slipping on the drum or motor. There is usually no adjustment on these and it is a case of replacing the belt. If you take the top off the machine, you may be able to look inside while it is running (KEEP CLEAR OF THE ELECTRICS AND DO NOT DELVE INSIDE WHILE THE MACHINE IS IN THIS STATE!) and see the belt slipping. If it is, it's probably time for a new belt
THE REAR BEARING IS DRY N THE BACK OF THE TUB PUT SO VASILIENE ON IT AND THIS SHOULD DO THE TRICK YOU HAVE TO PULL THE DRUM AND GREASE THE BALL AND PUT SOME IN THE CARRIAGE OIL AND WD 40 FOR SOME REASON WONT WORK
the center seals have failed and the squeeling was the first clue. It is a major tear down to change. One that i dread even as an appliance tech. depending on how badly you need the machine i would call a technician and ask for an estimate. sorry its not better news.
