Question about Avaya Phones

Avaya index two index using VCC cards and Index Net (across EPRI). Calls that orignate at one Index when rining and agent in a longest waiting group the phone freezes and cannot be used untill removed from the group. The setup was originally OK usging DPNSS.Both Index's are CPU X, version 11.0.3 and 9.0.6

I am not sure why you would want to disable G on the phone. G specifies that you are part of a Hunt Group. To be taken off the hunt group, please contact your phone system administrator. The "D" stands for diverting (forwarding) calls, which means forward unconditional is enabled. To cancel all forwarding, Dial *00

How to pick the call from other extensions

I have downloaded several manuals for the Avaya by searching online, some are good basic user guides and some very technical. You can pick up a call in several different ways - here is a copy from the manual on call pick ups:

2.2.2 Call Pickup
If you hear another phone ringing, there are a number of ways that you can answer the call if you know the user, group
or line being called.

1.If already on a call, end the call by pressing Drop or put it on hold by either pressing Hold or pressing the
button which the call is on.
2.Press an idle Intercom or Call Appearance button.
· To pickup a call ringing at a particular extension:
Dial 6 followed by the extension number at which the call is ringing or parked.
· To pickup the longest waiting call in a pickup group:
Dial 66 followed by the pickup group number (1 to 4).
· To pickup the call ringing on a particular line:
Dial 68 followed by the two digit line number.
3. You can continue the call handsfree or switch to using the handset or headset (press the HEADSET button).

To Create a Call Pickup Button (ETR 18D/ETR 34D Phone)
1.At the phone press Feature 00.
2.Program Extension: is shown on the display.
3.Press the button that you want to edit or enter a number between 03 to 80 to select a button. The current setting
of the button is displayed.
4.Press the first intercom or call appearance button.
5.Dial 6 followed by the target extension number.
6.The button function is changed to Call Pickup followed by the target extension number.
· Exit programming by pressing Feature 00. You can also exit programming mode by lifting the handset, then
placing it back in the cradle.

To Use a Call Pickup Button
1.Press the Call Pickup programmed button

In my office one avaya extension phone is showing NG in its display. and incoming calls are not coming.but we can call frm that phone. Please help me to solve the problem.

The phone is in Do Not Disturb, indicated by the N.
The G,means that the phone is in a group.

On that phone press *09 to turn off the DND.

I have an Avaya system. I can page an individual room but when I try a page to all telephones using *71. And it doesn't work. Any suggestions. Also I have a low battery warning where is the battery...

The battery is on the processor. The center card of your system, you will see the battery compartment that houses 2 AAA batteries.

You may not have the phones all in group 1, so your paging of "simultaneous" (*71) wont page the group 1 (the 1 of 71)

You will need to program the phones you want to be in that group in calling group of programming (#502, group 1, assign all phones to the group)

Partner ACS phone system won't fwd calls to mailbox

If they want all calls to be answered by the general delivery mailbox only them you need to change the Group Distribution (#206) on all the lines in group 7 from (1) assigned to (3) VMS Line Cover and also change the Line Coverage Ext (208) on all lines to ext 10

I bought a used avaya partner phone system online. It came with Partner mail vs module... I cannot access the menu for voice mail to set it up... Avaya directions say pressing (intercom) 777 but all I get...

Did you really think it was going to be that easy?

You have to program the VS in the proper hunt group (7) to make it work. For example, if you put it in the 2nd slot, because it was only a 2-slot carrier, it would become extensions 22 and 23 on a 2-port license and 20-23 on a 4-port. The Partner Mail is installed to the right of any 206 or 400 cards, so that you don't have any holes in the extension numbering plan.

Here's a manual for the VS R4. It should work for your system for the basic installation.

Page 35 is your installation information and page 50 tells you how to program the ACS.

You will need to talk to the phone administrator. It needs to be set up in system admin.
