This message means your extender is too far away from your wireless router to make a good connection. Repeaters must be within a good signal range for the connection to work properly.

If you have a wifi enabled phone, tablet, or laptop, you can walk around your home and see where the signal reaches and how well. Repeaters should be placed where you still receive full or close to full signal.

Repeaters may have issues if the wireless router is on another floor, behind metal, or too far away.

You will need to log into the router and get to the wireless tab or wireless settings to see it. To log into your router you will need the router's ip address, userid and password. The manual will give you this info. Read the Manual.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "Netgear Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Look for Manuals.

According to your manual the network key is on a label affixed to the router unless you changed it.

The cable modem should have a cat V port and you conect that into the WAN port on the netgear router.
