Check all the paper movement from the tray, left or right cover, front cover, if so then remove jammed paper. Otherwise the paper sensor spring guide missing or fell off from its original position. Check carefully where the sensor locate. paper sensors detect all the paper movement in the machine during copying or printing, so locate the place in the machine which the paper usually jammed, see the screen of the machine, it will locate the place where the paper jammed mostly. Sensor not return to it original position that is why ( remove paper jam keeps blinking)
Look very closely at the
area around the CD/DVD drive door until you find a really small hole -
it almost looks like an accident (probably just below the door).
Insert the paper clip in the hole (don't be afraid).
Push the paper clip gently to press the spring-loaded latch.
Yes, you place the spring into the tube at the back. When you replace the basket holder, make certain you reach in behind the holder and guide the spring into the proper place on the holder. (Otherwise the spring will be forced to a permanent bend and not work as well. Can't find replacements for this spring on Cuisinart's website).
As for why it pops out better now, when you removed the basket holder and cleaned it, you also cleaned the plastic guides on each side. In normal use, these guides acculuminate coffee and tend to get sticky or gummy. When the door pops open, the sticky rails grab the guides and slow the sliding action.
Cleaning them restores the clean guide rails to slide open on. (Next time you clean the basket holder, remember to reach in and wipe out all the inner parts, including the plastic rails that the basket holder slides out on. These get coated with coffee as well. And the place around where the grind basket fits over the ground basket. This area always gets sticky with old coffee. Just use a wet paper towel and clean everything. (But remember to be careful when you reinstall the basket holder so that the spring fits back properly.
One of the counter bakance springs OR the adjuster for it let go. I had a similar thing where the adjuster which was a thin metal "T" thing that screwed up into the spring as an adjuster folded and fell out of the spring.
Remove the bottom dress cover at the tope kick of the dishwasher. The springs are all accessable right there. The problem will be obvious. Just compare the two sides.
I had to beef up the "T" adjsuter in mine as it was too weak to continue holding in the spring.
One turns it into more or less coils of the spring to adjust the counterbalance.
Thats right that spring help to counter balance the top,the pease of plastic is to keep the spring in place. There are 2 spings that support the top. That plastic is not so expensive but to install the new plastic and spring is a very big job and it can be expensive. It normally takes me 3 hours to replace. The mashine can work normally it is only a hassel when you want to replase the toner .
Sir if you know how to fix your device then the only thing to do is to buy that missing spring. i dont know if that spring is available on some electronic shop but if you cant find one then let the technician help you for they have tools and spare parts. hope that helps sir!
I was having a similar problem. After finding the service manual (4402_X73.pdf) and taking the thing apart, an ink-covered broken spring fell from the inside. I checked around the 'Maintenance Station' and found the other half still hanging. Apparently -because I haven't got a replacement yet to confirm- the spring goes across the bottom of the 'Maintenance Station' to a lever on the other side. If someone can tell me where to post a picture of the thing, I'll gladly do it.
are you saying the spring to the door fell out and this is the second time??? how was it replaced the first time as a spring should not just fallout unless its dropped and a boss is broken off. ( a boss is a small plastic piece that would hold the spring in place.) This is a hard call unless you get the mechanical diagram as I dont have and they are all made differantly.
