Question about Nikon Coolpix 3200 Digital Camera
The door for the battery on my Nikon Coolpix 3100 has a slight crack in the side and upon opening it the latch piece broke off so now I can only keep it closed with a rubber band to keep the connection of the batteries to the door working. I know that I can purchase a new battery door - I've seen them for sale - but is the little latch able to be repaired - is it worth my while to have these repairs done or just purchase a new camera?
Have used a 5-cent nylon cable tie for years on our CoolPix 990 and it never has failed, and still allows for battery changes. Looks a little funny to some, but is very functional. Don't know if your camera's design is similar enough for this to work, but it may worth trying.
