In the menus there should be an "image" adjustment option, it could also be related to the "sync" rate. Try different settings. You may also need to adjust the resolution you're sending to the projector from your computer.
There is three LCD in the projector red, green and blue. If green LCD make any fault mean line or dot or dots then screen show these line or dot in purple color:
If line is very straight and sharp edges then green LCD is faulty and need to be replaced.
If line is not straight and faded edges then some thing in LCD block so your projector need service

These instructions are for a Sony Cineza VPL HS3, but may be the same for the HS3. 1st thing to check - is the cover properly/completely closed - this can stop the projector from working. Connect the power and set the projector to standby mode. Press these buttons on the remote control in this order, for less than 5 seconds each. Reset - Left Arrow - Right Arrow - Enter
This is required, to reset the lamp timer.
Also, something I found interesting from the internet - lamp life isn't when the bulb dies, but when a bulb has lost 10% of its brightness - so you might well be able to reset the timer and get much more use from the bulb - the image just wont be as bright.
the swith that the lamp cover engages is not functioning. either the tab on the lamp door is broken off, the actuator on the switch is off, or the switch itself is broken. the lamp won't light if it thinks the door is open.

Yepp, you can do that, each and one of your projectors have separete settings. So you can run one hanging from the roof and the other one standing on a table if you want. How the picture is showing depends on how you set up the the settings in the specific projector. The the signal that comes to the projectors are always the same, its only the settings on the projector that can change that.
Give input signal to the projector and see that if the menu appears or not on the screen.
if menu comes on the screen then put the backgroung color to blue, instaed of black.
if nothing comes on the screen, then the LCD panels are faulty.
