Buzzing and Ignition Issues

I use my remote to unlcok the driver's side door. I sit in the driver's seat and notice a low buzz. I put the key in the ignition, and the car starts. This morning it did not start until I left the car, locked it, and returned in a few minutes to find that I could start the car even though I heard the buzz before putting the key in the ignition. What do you think is going on?

Sounds like a weak battery, or bad connections at the battery/etc. Could also be a security system issue. Without hearing the noise it is difficult to help you pinpoint it. Maybe compile some more info with specifics like when? how often? cold or hot engine? cold or hot outside? Does the engine crank slow/start normal when it does start? Do you have any non-Honda alarms/gps/tracking systems installed? If so, that's where to start. 99.9% of the time these types of probs show up with non-factory security systems installed, it's caused by the aftermarket product, or sloppy installation by vendor.

Thank you for you thoughts and suggestions. I will get my battery checked. Regarding my security system, mine was installed by Honda when the car was new, I have always assume it is a Honda-manufactured system but I don't know for sure, and I've had no problems with it previously. The buzz I hear definitey occurs when the engine is cold, at varying outside temperatures. There is either no engine crank at all, or it starts completely normally.

SOURCE: master door switch? or something else? buzzes when i press lock

ok ur door lock switch isnt going out,,however ur drivers front door lock actuator is going or is already bad...have that replaced..also as far as the end noise buzz u hear , that may be ur a.b.s modulator and accumulator cycleing on and off..it may be empty and or leaking..have the a.b.s modulator and accumulator checked at the dealer..its an expensive fix... ur modulator unit in in the front left or right of the vehicle depending if u have a v6 or 4 cyl. its a square unit with a rectangular brake fluid resevroir and a long tubular cylinder (acummulator)... also identify it by the orange connectors...and the brakelines going to it...common symptom with those accords....they leak alot especially if with high mileage..

Well, my mom found a little button underneath the dash board on the drivers side. And I guess its kind of like the reset button. So she pushed it and started the car and it was fine!

SOURCE: Remote won't lock the Drivers side lock

hi there you say you have had the lock changed do you mean the key hole or the door closure part of the lock?
if you changed the key part its the main lock that's faulty and the reveres is true ,
if the remote is working on one door it is not the remote that's the problem.
i hope that this has been helpful regards John

Ignition switch turned on all power is drained and a buzzing sound comes from the dash driver side truck won't start

This sounds like one of two things. The buzzing is sometimes a key in the ignition reminder in lieu of chimes, or the bad Relay is vibrating.

Sometimes when Relays go bad the contact points melt together. But what most people do not realize is that Relays operate in a domino sequence and have 2 or more sets of contacts in each Relay. One relay activates a second relay. With the points frozen in the first relay, the second relay in domino sequence is turned on with no job to do. The spacing between the contact points and its coil continue to buzz because it is not able bite into its matching contact.

First, you can get free Powerbox diagrams by registering your truck on Autozone.com. The wiring diagrams are also free. This will give you a clue to which relay goes where and does what.

Find the buzz. The vibration should be coming from the relay that is the problem, or connected to the problem. If you think about it, a stuck Relay can drain the power. The source of your original problem.

Have you recently used the trailer plug? What does not work on the truck? Horn? Door locks? Window motors? Seat motor? Rear window?
Was something plugged into a power outlet? Cell-phone, I-pad, etc.

Finally, disconnect and fully charge your new battery. Ford alarm systems are very, very sensitive to low power. Unplug the alternator to see if the noise is coming from bad Diodes grounding the alternator.

I hope my solution helps and would like to know the results of this mystery sound to share with others.

Good afternoon....what would cause my 2008 Chevy

It could be the power lock motor. You could have a short or bad wiring harness. Might just be a fuse that connects to both. But since you said it's only the driver side. When the power lock motor is bad it can trigger your alarm because they're wired together.

Hope that helps. Good luck.

Let's see if there is really a diagnostic expert out there for this... 1996 Plymouth Voyager 3.3L engine with 165,000 miles. I'm having intermittent starting problems. I can drive for weeks and no...

The way to approach this sreies of issues is to first remove the remote start/alarm from the equation and restore the vans electrical system back to original. From there, if it persists, we can do more trouble shooting. Let me know and I can walk you through the process. This is definately a problem that does require a diagnostician. Thank you for the level of detail you provided!

ELECTRICAL PROBLEM, KEY STUCK, FUSES BUZZING

The fuses that are buzzing, are these the ones you replaced? Sounds like a bad connection to the fuse panel, but the ones you removed are they fuses or relays. Did you have to repair any wiring or plugs for the window? Check the connection at the main window panel, if it has a bad connection such as not plugged in completely.
