Problem for GE (APH10AA) Air Conditioner

Drain hose in floor drain but fills up water bucket

By ciconte1 on Jun 12, 2009

I have the drain hose going to a floor drain and the drain connector pointed down, but after a couple of days the water bucket fills up and shuts the unit down, why if the hose is going to a floor drain, and the drain connector is the way the instruction books says and then fills up the bucket and shuts down. The model I have is APE08AKM1. What would cause this to happen, there is no obstuctions I see on the outside or in the hose. Thanks and hope for you help and answer to this problem. Thanks Mike.....

wow, that's a weird one there. just to check, you did turn thr drain connection all the way down and remove the cap? nothing inside the drain connector? the hose is not too small or run too far? is the water coming out of the hose and in to the bucket at the same time if it is I would think ther is an internal leak somewhere and take it back for an exchange if new. good luck let me know if this wasn't any help for ya
