Question about Kensington in a Box Optical (DH72123) Mouse

Left clicker doing odd things

My left clicker is doing weird things. Most of the time, when I push it it doesn't register. In order to get it to do so I have to hit it very hard towards the bottom of the button.

Meanwhile, it registers at odd times, causing me to jump around a page of text mid-word! It also seems to be 'holding down' the button, as when I try to move it it wants to highlight everything I move it over.

Any ideas?

The click-lock was not on, by the way. I also tried uninstalling the device which didn't help at all, either.

Hi... If the mouse is somewhat used for a long time since it was bought, I usually check the mouse cable. Sometimes, when the cable is stressed out especially the line near the clicks/buttons, it's not totally cut-off yet, Try opening the mouse and try one by one pulling the colored wires inside the cable... you should be able to pull at least one line which caused the problem... If there is then you need to connect it back... you need a little help from an electronic technician guy... but if you are... well... you know what I mean...

Ok.. so wires are good... try a tester to test the continuity of the button... If you click it, the tester should react. If not then you need to change that button... scrap it from an old mouse for that part.

But, tinkering with my cable seems to do nothing. Might it be old and stressed?

My left clicker button has stopped working?

Yes, the switch part can fail. Repairing the motherboard can be labor intensive and costly. U might just want to consider using a usb mouse to work around the issue.

The left button, buy a can of compressed air attach straw and lift left button with fingernail gently, now give a few good blasts to clear out any dirt that might be obstructing the pad underneath the button, repeat if needed.

My dell laptop sensor pad is not responding all the time can you help

Buy a can of compressed air, attach straw, slightly lift left clicker with finger nail and give good blast of air in the crevice, "few times" repeat with right clicker, this will clean out any dirt and hopefully fix the problem.

The left button at the bottom of my touch pad has a problem. the click is delayed, i have got to hold the click for longer so that the click may occur

@inam_khan_10

Try the following:
1. If your computer is running on Windows, try to boot into Safe Mode (you need to press F8 continuously upon boot-up then choose Safe Mode) and check if your Touchpad left clicker. If it works ok, then a software problem is causing the Touchpad to delay like that. Try reading this guide to solve it.
2. If Step 1 above doesn't work, try to use a compressed can of air to clean the Touchpad clicker and see if same issue occurs.

If still no go, this is a sign that your Touchpad is already wearing out and it needs to be replaced.

Good luck.

Hi, my left clicker on my Sony Vaio stopped working. The right clicker works as well as the scroll pad but clicking on the scroll pad doesn't work as well. I have tried rebooting, installing the mouse...

More then likely the button has worn out.The first thing I would try to check to see if its the button or not ,just plug a mouse in to the laptop and see if that works with left click if it does it just may need a new button put in.If your handy you may even be able to do it yourself. If you have any other questions just let me know.
