How can i limit the number of rings before the answering machine kicks in on my panasonic 6.0 phone

Answering system settings Number of rings before the unit answers calls You can change the number of times the phone rings "Ring count" before the unit answers calls. You can select 2 to 7 rings, or "Toll saver". The default setting is "4". "Toll saver": The unit's answering system answers at the end of the 2nd ring when new messages have been recorded, or at the end of the 4th ring when there are no new messages. If you call your phone from outside to listen to new messages , you will know that there are no new messages when the phone rings for the 3rd time. You can then hang up without being charged for the call. 1 {MENU} i {#}{2}{1}{1} 2 {V}/{^}: Select the desired setting. i {Save} i {OFF}

The phones ring just 4 times before they go to message I want them to ring at least enimes

I don't know what "enimes" is, but that's the standard for those phones. I don't think it's changable unless the entire system is changed.

One station is not ringing on night ring 1 setting

Night 1 will direct the calls to a predetermined hunt group. The extension not ringing is most likely missing from the hunt group. To correct this will require a programming change. This change needs to be made by your administrator or phone vendor that takes care of your phone system.

Hi I have a Panasonic KX-T7667 Telephone and it rings for intercom calls, but for external line calls it won't ring, I just get the flashing lights for the phone line. I have tried the volume...

Solid lights mean it's not programmed in the ICD group. Depending on the issue of your system cabinet, ICD ring group pilot numbers begin with 600 or 601 and grow to as many as you need. Each phone that rings has to be a member of the group and you can program it to not ring, ring immediately, or a delay of up to 6 rings. In my office system ICD group members are assigned in system program 620.and the ringing is programmed in 621. It's not entirely friendly to change it by hand as the tables are assigned by group and position, but it can be done.

It's an installer function and requires the system password or permission to change it.

My store had a huge power outage where the lines were sparking. Anyway since the power has come back on I have no ring & can not dial an extention after i dial a phone number. I have looked in the...

So you're saying you can dial a phone number, but when the voicemail system answers you can't dial an extension number ? If that's the case, that means your phone system reset. Generally that means all phones will have access to only line 1 and 2, and that they'll be ringing on all phones. The date would usually change to Jan. 1st 1980, but caller-ID might override that. All line programming would be set to pulse, which would be the cause of you not being able to dial an extension number a voicemail system answers. It would also mean that when you do dial a phone number it takes a while before you hear it ringing. (Because the phone system is dialing in pulse instead of tone, if you stand next to the phone system you'll probably hear it go)

... Long story short, your entire phone system needs to be reprogrammed. I suggest only doing a partial reprogramming, then unplugging the power for a few minutes and check to see if the programming stuck. If not, the battery in your system also needs to be changed.

Phone Doesn't Ring Long Enough Before Going To VM

The phone you have can be used on different Avaya phone systems that program differently. It is certainly something that can be changed but you would need to know which system you have first. There is a call-forward no answer timer that send the call to another station or voice mail box etc.. after so many seconds. That is what needs to be changed.

All the manuals are available at www.avaya.com but again, you would need to know which system you have before looking for the manual.

Ringing problem

I assume it does not ring but just beeps to let you know another line is ringing in case you want to put the current call on hold and answer it. It's called Off-Hook Call Announce, you want to have that option turned off on your extension or possibly the entire system. Do you have someone at your location that makes programming changes to the system or do you pay a company for that?
