Remote not working properly

Hi, on my remote when I push the number 4 it turns my volume down, the a-b button goes into the menu, and my mute button tabs through the menu options. That's all I have found for buttons that work. I have changed the battery in the remote but there was no change in functionality. Any suggestions?

It's because the rubber layer(keypad) on the top of the remote has moved a bit or so. Just open the remote carefully align the keypad. Put the pieces together including battery. Test it.....

OR

It's because the circuit in you remote has mulfunctioned. Try consulting a repair shop or buy a new one.

Hope this helped

SOURCE: buttons on top of screen don't work

I recently read in the manual that if you hit both the reset buttons on the headunit and amp, it should reset it.

My philips srp5107wm/17 only changes the volume on my tv no matter what device i have it set on

The Philips remote is set to "push trough" the volume/mute to the TV for devices that typically don't have a volume function. Older versions of Philips remote used to allow you to select the device to push volume to, but for some reason this is no longer available (or at least I haven't found out how to). So here is the solution I used.

Teach (learning function) the remote to use whatever device you like for volume/mute.

1, Press the button for the device you would like to change
2. Hold down "learn" and the button you want to teach ex. "volume up" until the red light comes on
3. Place the original remote of the device you would like to change the volume on 5-10 cm away from your Philips remote and press "volume up" for this example
4. Repeat these steps for the "volume down" and "mute" buttons
5. Repeat these steps for other devices you would like to "push through" volume/mute to a device other than TV

Hope this helps others. I did find that some devices like SAT may not allow you to change the volume/mute, but otherwise this workaround does the trick.

Trying to synch my remote to the new tvee model 25 sound bar and can't get the orange lights.

I had this same problem and it was due to their instructions which do not adequately explain the setup procedure.

On my own, I was successful in programming volume up but that was all. I assumed that for volume down I would hold the power button and the VOLUME DOWN button and wait for the flashing light just as I had for volume up. Problem is, you never get a flashing light.

Today, I spoke with a rep from Boston Acoustics who patiently explained that step one of the instructions has to be done the same way each time as it is the step that puts the soundbar into programming mode.

It is only at step 2 that things change.

The solution is to hold the power button and the Volume Up button every time in order to get the system into programming mode. Once the light is flashing, in order to program Volume Down, you then hold the Volume Down button until the light goes solid. Once the light goes solid, then press the volume down button on your remote 4 times slowly. Works like a charm.

Works the same way to program the mute button. Follow step one to get the unit in programming mode. Once the light is flashing, hold down only the mute button until the light goes solid. When the light goes solid, press the mute button slowly 4 times.

OBTW, this was programmed with a Logitech Harmony 650 remote unit.

Hughes Remote works the satellite but not the TV

You have to push and hold down TV and Mute button (for 2 seconds at the same time), then release them at the same time, then push channel up until the TV turns off.  Be patient and continue channel up until the TV turns off.  When it turns off, then push TV again to lock the code.

You were doing fine, but missed to push channel up to fine the code.
