kenmore electric dryer (model # 110 60202990) dried a load of clothes like normal. But with the current load, it suddenly stopped heating. How can I fix this?
Hello Friend, Your problem is very simple to fix. You need a thermal fuse, very simple and affordable to replace. To replace the thermal fuse just remove back cover of dryer and look down where the air blows out. Now, just to the left where all the wires are you will see a white plastic part with two wires plugged into it. This part is called a thermal fuse. Just remove these wires and replace the thermal fuse. Your dryer will run like new. Happy to help, Tim.

Yesterday I turner the dryer on, and it did take more time than usual with the start button pressed for the motor the start. Later the machine stopped before the cycle was over... I tried to turn it on again but I wouldn't start. Today a open the outlet because I saw that one of the prungs of the power cord was kind of melting or something... check everything ... and everything seems to be fine, with the exception of a some overheating on the left prong with neutral on top. I tried to wiggle it a little bit to see if was a contact problem, I even try to start it without the wire connected, put some antioxidizer on it... I after a few tries, I got it started, but it seems that something is wrong... the machine is doing more noise than usual, kind of a humming sound, I touched the prongs (on the ouside for now) and it seems that is not overheating now... But the melting on the left prong is indicating that it does exist... Now. Could that be just a connection problem? If I change the power cord or even the outlet, might solve it or... could it be a motor problem? Thank you so much....

I have a 70 series Kenmore Dryer, recently replaced the timer and the heater element. Occassionally the dryer won't heat, but most of the time it will. Also, the more major problem I'm seeking an answer to, is the fact that the timer still doesn't turn off the dryer....it would continue running for hours if left untouched. This doesn't work whether in timed mode or a preset mode.
