Re: computer harddisk

You may need to reinstall your operating system. this happens when a virus, something called w32. jini.recko^lok affcts the system.

you may also try to install an antivirus program which is up to date, to scan your system. But the bad news is that once this trojen affects your system most of the antiviruses are not successfully installed. The winodws installer service is locked or terminated by this trojen.

best thing to do is to recover and backup your data to any other disk. and repartition your disk and format and reinstal it.

Hello there,

Here is the sata harddisk enclosure i've been telling you.

You can take out your harddisk on your laptop and put in the enclosure. Then you can plugin the enclosure to another computer. It will be detected as a local harddrive and you can get the files you want.

If you have questions, please let me know.

Harddisk data not acceseble

please give some more details on the machine and OS u are using, sounds like you have got windows installed and the external harddisk is being recognized as an unknown hardware device.
you may face following problems:

- either you need special drivers for it suiting to the windows version u are using(google!)
- or your PC still has only the 1.1 USB ability
but the external hd is 2.0 USB and that's producing trouble

in windows XXX:
-make sure you are logged in as an administrator
-then you may try to find the harddisk using the windows explorer or
-left-click'start' goto 'system' then 'hardware'. double-click now and perform a search for new hardware
- does windows find the harddisk now?
- let it install the drivers, unplug usb-device, reboot, reconnect and now it can be found like any other harddrive

good luck - if still facing the problem, please post another request on fixya and give more details on your pc and the harddisk..

Hello Sujit,
I am not very sure about what exact the issue is.. Are the Tally files damaged or the computer not booting up? The question seems to be incomplete... What is the error that you see?
Taking into consideration the 2nd scenario that the computer is not booting up .. There are many ways you can get your data back.
>> Try to boot your computer through "Safe Mode" and try to restore the computer back to the date it was working properly
>> If you have installed any new hardware, try removing the hardware and see if the computer boots up
>> You can try Repair installing the OS.
>> You can connect the harddisk to some different computer and try to copy the data from the damaged Harddisk

Please let me know if that helps or please reply back with the full description of the issue so that we can assist you better.

Blue screen with error message

It is also called BSOD or blue screen of death could occur because of recent hardware change, faulty hardware. Please restart your computer if that occurs again ..try to remove hardware one by one or just operate your computer with minimum accessories first and then add it later on whichever is comfortable to you. If that does' t work then it might be your harddisk too ..u might need to replace your harddisk.

Move data from Windows 95 to Windows 2000

Files are pretty easy to transfer, and there are a few ways to do it. You can some kind of removable storage device such as an external hard drive or a thumb drive. You can also set up a network between the computers, which can be done using the network setup wizard, which can be found in the control panel.

Transferring programs is the hard part. If you don't have very many programs, you might just want to reinstall them on the new computer if you have the installation discs or files. If you have a lot of programs with settings that you would like to keep, you may want to purchase a transferring program like PCmover, which will transfer files, programs, and settings between two computers.

Another option is to use a disk imaging program, which creates an exact copy of your entire hard drive which can be moved onto another computer. There are many programs you can use to do this, some of which cost money, whereas some can be downloaded for free. You can find a list of free programs here:

The disk imaging option is definitely more difficult than a straight transfer though, since it just copies them to a file rather than actually installing them on the new computer. This option is mainly useful if you want to keep programs that you do not have installation discs or files for.
