Light and oven does not turn on.

This toaster oven was working fine, but one day it does not turn on.
I never saw any sparks or saw smokes/fumes from this toaster oven.

Light does not turn on---I took the oven out and the bulb does not seem to be popped (based on looking at the bulb through bright lights---but I may be wrong).
The toaster oven does not turn on.

Help me out.

Re: Light and oven does not turn on.

:-) Same here, in the middle of cooking the toaster just died. O' well, i am a tech! i opened the unit and diagnosed the problem. the unit has a non-resettable high limit thermostat that blows open when reaching high temperature. the problem is that when it happened, the oven wasn't even hot and was only on for a bout five (5) minutes. From my experience, it is due to a design defect. from all i have seen so far, it doesn't seem that the company cares about its reputation or customers... what can you expect from the French?!

Re: Light and oven does not turn on.

My unit failed the same way. Opened it and found an internal inline fuse which is blown. This is not an easily replaceable part even if it were readily available. I have not answered the question of why it blew in the first place so there is likely some other problem as well.

I have an Oster toaster oven 6260. Looks very clean. My son got it at a garage sale. Day 1 worked fine. Day 2 plugged in doesn't go on no matter what knobs are turned. Tried different outlets. ...

It is possible that the controller switch or the trigger is absent so that the coils do not get the power from the mains circuit. it will be best if you can remove the mains plug and start tracing with a multimeter in continuity range( ohms) so that the connection is confirmed.
Once it is found that the switch does not switch on the power or has lost the connection even when it is put to the ON position then you can salvage the swittch from the older toaster to be fixed on.
If the coils have opened it can also be checked with the meter , specially since you have one top element working.
So using the inventory of the two toasters you can get one working.

When the oven is on for a couple of min. it makes a bang sound

Probably is the metal heating up and expanding. Does everything still work? Your not smelling any smoke are you. If it still works fine and your not seeing any smoke or smelling anything burning it probably is OK. Does it do this everytime you use it? The sheet metal on the outside and inside can expand and if it is crimped at all it will make a noise when it heats up and expands. I hear this a lot where I work, we deal with extreme temperatures and when metal heats up it expands and pops sometimes!

Top element not working all wires are connected

Very possible the element on top has a break some where but maybe small enough you cant see it or could be hiden. If you have access to a multimeter put it to ohms and with it unplugged from the outlet take the wires off the element and check the element itself if the multimeter reads OL the element is bad.

Could be the timer switch. They will suddenly stop working all at once or work intermittantly. Unless it's a Delonghi you may have a very hard time finding the part you need. If the switch is a DKJ/1-60 you will not find one but there is a Delonghi switch that you can use which you can find at or . The Delonghi part # is 5218104600 to replace a DKJ/1-60
