What is causing two of my burners to stay on?

Thank you for your post, friend!

I would suggest either your switch or element could be causing the problem within your burners. I would perform a reset on your appliance which you can do by unplugging your power cord or flipping the household circuit breaker for ten minutes.

If that does not help correct the issue I would recommend reaching out to a professional for proper diagnosis and repair of your range. I hope this is helpful. -Matt

You can remove that one burner usually fastened with one screw.Check that all holes are clean and not blocked. If you do wash the burner make sure to blow it off with compressed air.You can also dry thoroughly.

Burner will not go off

The problem is the infinite switch has failed. They are easy to check and inexpensive. There is a video at www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html that will walk you thru testing this. It may be a different model but the testing will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations for your specific model. All parts come with installation instructions.

How do I raise the cooktop on my Frigidaire Gallery Model #GLGF377ASE . I need to access the burner orifices.

If you raise up the top you will break the tubing going to the burners. You must remove the screws on each sealed burner before raising the top. Look closely and you will see the screws. They will be hard as heck to come out. If a stove is real old and I cannot get the screws out I dremmel the screw heads out and drill out the screws. I do a repair and then pop rivet the burners back on. If I have to go back in there it is nothing to drill out a pop rivet. That is how I do it on real old stoves. You may figure out a better way. You have to get those burners loose or you will break those lines below the top.

I have a frigidaire gallery heavy duty dryer, gas burning. It has heated/dried my laundry less and less, and now does not seen to heat up at all. What part do I need to replace?

You may have aproblem withthe venting. Make sure the the fan can blow freely through and out the vent. If this gets parially blocked it cuts down the air flow and will make the dryer run too hot and keep the burner off. The other thing taht it could be is the temperature sensor that turns the gas burner on and off. Sometimes they will go bad and not let the burner stay on long enough to heat properly.

Red light indicating a plate is hot stays continuously on.

I assume this is a smooth top model? One of the sensors on a burner is bad and can be replaced. It involves removing the top adn disassembling the burner. Not difficult by my standards but delicate work that requires some knowledge of electrical components.

I have found that kitchen cleanser and a crub pad along with good old fashioned elbow grease is your best bet...

The fine scratches might come out with a good rubbing compound like the type used on car finishes...
