Question about Dell Axim X5 Pocket PC
I'm very new to the whole Pocket PC. I have a Dell Axim X5 and the Touchscreen has stopped working. Could somebody pleas give me some advice on possible solutions. I did drop the handheld once before it stopped working. Whatever suggestions would need specific instructions because as I say I'm a novice. (Example: "Try a hard reset" is great but how do you do a hard reset?) Thanks in advance.
If the touch screen always seems off or is unresponsive it may be the ribbon cable to the screen is burned. It is a simple repair with a piece of cellophane tape placed over the burn in the ribbon. It involves opening the unit. You can search for specific directions online.
For a hard reset... Press and hold the soft reset button on the side of the unit. While holding soft reset press the power button. release.you will get a screen to press one of the buttons below. e-mail to save data.
