I cannot reinstall the HP software that came with my 4315 OfficeJet.... I keep getting an error message that states USB.file is missing.

First, disconnect the printer from the computer. Next, uninstall the software for the officejet. Here is the link for the latest software from HP:

On this page, you can also get a manual (should you not have one). The HP site works quite well and also has "AutoDetect" for many of their products to help you with installation probs.
