Either ur motherboard is shot or the port that the battery connects to on the motherboard is bad

Actually try a different wall adapter.. mine stopped working with the inspiron but worked to charge a different laptop and by witching bothw orked fine... so it may just be the charger

check if you are using correct Watt of ac adapter.if yes then download the latest BIOS update for your laptop. if all fails then replace the motherboard.

Dell inspiron 9300 doesn't charges i doubt its dc jack is broken , wanna fix it
If it works from DC jack try to change the battery first, for example to the same battery from another comp. If DC jack is broken and laptop don't works from wall outlet better change the jack in service center. Disassembling Dell is hard work... Cheers.

My computer will not recognize the battery. Runs OK on AC.
Since the system is not seeing the batteries the apparent fault is the motherboard connection for the battery. If under warranty , contact Dell, in not, you can try and purchase a replacement motherboard on EBay.
