Re: Jumping Picture

Does the Sony surround upscale the signal from normal RCA to Component video? If so I have found that sometimes there can be signal sync issue. Meaning the signal that the component video convertor (inside the surround sound unit) sometimes struggles to give a clean component video signal. The TV then struggles to filter the signal correctly resulting in a jumping picture. Try plugging the DVD video only (yellow RCA lead) straight into the plasma and see what happens. You can also try playing with the signal frequency of the plasma, from 50 - 60hz. This will found in the menu of the plasma. Hope this helps. ST

Rca model rtd3266 won't produce aux audio through the tv even though we have hooked up the red and white cables. It only playes the surround sound when you watch the dvd.

I believe you have misunderstood something. The audio output from your TV is stereo. Your RCA system produces surround output from your TVs stereo input.

Ghosting of picture from a Panasonic home cinema system

There must be a fault in the screening of the internal wiring to the scart outlet in the home theatre system. I simply changed the way the player was connected to the TV and the interference disappeared:-

1.) I used the RCA video outlet instead of the scart lead. Picture quality was not compromised. FYI the Panasonic Plasma TV I have has only RGB video input sockets at the back, so I used a scart to RCA adaptor to overcome this problem of connecting old technology to new.

2.) The surround sound when playing DVDs is generated directly from the home theatre system so there was no need to connect the audio from the home theatre system to the TV

3.) I used a pair of RCA leads to connect the "audio out" from the TV to the "audio in"on the home theatre system to provide the option of TV sound through the home theatre system.

I have a DVD player Panasonic DMR ES20D which is working OK but I have just been on the Amazon site to make DVD a purchase and the site has a warning in red reading " Warning this HD-DVD will not play...

Even though you have an HD TV, the DVD player is not HD-capable. You will have to upgrade to an HD set to use those discs. (You might consider that Sony's system, "Blu-Ray, is now the format winner in this case, and therefore try to find your disc selection in the Blu-Ray format.)...accordianman
