Electrostatic touchpad won't work

When I open the phone the electrostatic touchpad doesn't light up or operate.  It didn't work before then after about 1 day it started working again.  It worked for a couple of weeks just fine then now it stopped working again and hasn't operated for a couple of days.  Have never dropped it. Any ideas?

Hey,
been through this one with you just the exact same.
I never dropped mine aswell. though what I descovered is that
samsung make their phones only to last for up to 6 months till they need 2 be repaired.
The thing that I think is up with your SGH-E900 is that you
must have over chagered it for to long and burned up the sensors
or you have been pressing the buttons too hard.
sorry that I couldn't be more of a help though if you still have
your phone under the 1 year warranty you can get it repaired, they might not accept it if you only have a couple of days left of your warranty because they won't get it back to you by the time your warranty has ran done.

HP 2055dn prints dirty blank pages, any ideas?

Find the control dial inside (on the paper path) that reduce's the electrostatic charge to the drum. Knock it back a notch or two and try your printing.
Not sure if this is really going to help, but....
The process of laser printing works like this.
A charged (electrostatic) drum contacts with a piece of paper and transfers the static charge to the paper. It revolves past a fine plastic powder called Toner. A laser beam is used to discharge all of the electrostatic drum except where the characters are to be printed (a negative image). The fuser assembly heats the remaining toner (characters) & bonds it with the paper.
With this in mind, it is easy to see how a small electrostatic charge remaining on the drum would pick up a minute amount of toner which is heated, making the paper appear slightly dirty.
Some Laser Printers have the drum and electrostatic generator included all together in a replaceable Toner Cartridge. Therefore when you change Toner cartridge you get a whole new drum etc. So, try replacing the toner cartridge and see if you can see the green or blue drum as part of the toner cartridge. This may fix the problem.
If it is only a Toner cartridge containing toner then you need to look closer inside the printer. Open side doors etc to get access to the guts. There are interlock switches on these doors so the power goes off while they are open.
There is often a removable slide in "U" shaped rod that has 2 very fine wires running the full length (width of drum). Like piano wire.
This is a high voltage unit that brings the static in contact with the drum assembly. This small assembly usually can be pulled out for inspection. It often has a cleaning brush or slider that can be slid back and forth to clean these wires. So, while there, clean it.
There is often a control dial close by which increases or decreases the high voltage to these electrostatic wires.
De creasing the charge slightly may fix the problem as this reduces the overall charge on the drum.
Hope this helps
Cheers... Trevor

It keeps making a static sound. and it lights up with the sound because there is a small shock that happens ever 10 seconds in the back above the filter

That happens when the electrostatic grid needs to be cleaned. There should be instruction for cleaning the electrostatic grid in the owner's manual.

I have a Bosch SHU9955US/14 (Integra) dishwasher. There is currently a 0 with and asterisk showing on the display and the unit will not run.

Thermal Fuse If the dishwasher won't start the thermal fuse might have blown. The thermal fuse helps to prevent damage to the dishwasher by turning off power so that it doesn't overheat. Once blown, the thermal fuse will have to be replaced for the dishwasher to work.

Door Switch The door switch, or switches, are sometimes called interlock switches. The door switch prevents the dishwasher from running while the door is open. If the dishwasher won't start, the switch or switches might be defective. To access the door switches, remove the control panel or inside door panel - depending on the model. They can be tested for continuity.

Main Control Board The main control board provides power to nearly every component of the dishwasher. If the dishwasher won't start the main control board might be defective. YOU should first check for more common parts. Many times control boards are replaced unnecessarily because the problem was not diagnosed properly.

Touchpad and Control Panel If the touchpad is defective, the control board might not get the signal for the selections made. If the dishwasher won't start and the display doesn't seem to change properly when the buttons are pressed, the touchpad might need to be replaced. On some models the touchpad and control panel are sold together and will need to be replaced at the same time.

Touchpad If the touchpad is defective, the control board might not get the signal for the selections made. If the dishwasher won't start and the display doesn't seem to change properly when the buttons are pressed, the touchpad might need to be replaced.

Timer The timer allows power to flow to the proper parts at the proper times. If the dishwasher won't start, the timer might be defective. Keep in mind that timers are often misdiagnosed as the cause of a problem. Check other components first before replacing the timer.

Touchpad problem

I am going to assume the touchpad doesn't work, since you didn't elaborate much in your description. If it isn't doing anything, you need to reinstall the drivers for the touchpad. If you have an external mouse laying around, use it to go to the acer site and redownload the touchpad software and follow the instructions to install it. The next time you boot your computer, it will work.

Door won't open and I can't find the release

I'm talking about machines used in Europe. It is normal that you cannot open the door few minutes after finishing. It is protection from electrostatic electricity. But if you still cannot open the door call authorised service. What type of machine it is about? Some solutions used to be offered in manuals.

My touchpad doesn't work on my aspire one D255 netbook. The wireless mouse works but the touchpad doesn't respond to any touch. How can I make the touch pad work? Is there a function?

Hi!

If the touchpad worked well before and suddenly doesn't work any more, it is most likely it was stopped by pressing the key combination FN F7. To be sure please press the same combination again and check if it works.

If it still not work, please check if the touchpad drivers are installed on you netbook.
To do so, please open device manager. (opening the device manager could be done in more different ways, e.g. click START button and, depending on your operating system enter devmgmt.msc in the Run box for windows XP or in the Search programs and files box in windows 7).
Now, under mice and other pointing devices you should find your touchpad.
If the touchpad is not listed in device manager, drivers for it have to be installed.
Drivers for your netbook's hardware are on the acer support page.

Hope it helped,

Bogdan

Touchpad problem on VAIO laptop

Have you tried a regular mouse another (USB) input? You may be able to carefully disassemble the pad and clean with a electronic cleaner fluid. Use a light touch with the membrane. If the mouse behaves the same, look at you system and uninstall / reinstall the driver. The oils on your fingers can gum up the surface and make it less sensitive to the electrostatic properties that make a touch pad operate.
