Programming a theft avert remote

Bought a used truck is cane with a 4 button remote. There is a small box mounted on the insde top of the windsheild on the passengers side with 2 antennas and a window sticker on the drives side that says "Theft Avert Vehicle security system" the remote doesn't do anything

Sounds like that anti theft device is a dummy unit to fake potential theives out.

Remove the battery in your remote for 15 sec, then put back in, start your car with your key, wait 15 sec, while the car is running press the * star button 2 times, it should beep , if not try it again, if still nothing post me back and we can go from there

SOURCE: Aftermarket anti theft system problem

Found the problem - it was not the security system - it was an internally shorted battery. Replaced the battery and the car is fine.

Yes this will work on your 2005 CHEV SUB, but you will need a special bypass modual to bypass the factory anti-theift system, if you need one I stock them, let me know

You'll need to find the valet switch in your scorpio. It is in glove box, towards the top, near the metal clip in which the lid of Glove Box Locks. You have to turn "ON" the ignition. Press that button once.....Leave it Press that button again and hold it You'll hear a beep confirming remote programming mode Now press lock button of each remote to be programmed one by one for atleast 2 seconds You'll hear a small beep on each button press confirming successful remote registration Now leave that button and close all doors and check the remotes for programming

No,the Dish Network satalite box signals require it own remote for it INFER RED INPUT and INFER RED OUTPUT signals.Call Dish Network customer service ask for a another original Dish Network remote.U pay $5 or $6 dollars a month for the satalite box as rental.They should wave the fee or charge u very little for a another remote.

1. Manually turn on the VCR/DVD/Cable set top box.

2. Press the VCR/DVD/Cable set top box button on the remote control.

3. Press and hold the SETUP button until the LED LIGHT flashes twice.

4. Enter the codes using the Number Buttons. If the code is accepted, the LED flashes twice after the last digit is entered.

If the LED does not flash twice, repeat Steps 2 through 4 with the next code listed for the component and
manufacturer.

5. Point the remote control at the VCR and press the POWER button. The VCR/DVD/Cable set top box will turn off.
6.Your are done.

Look under the dirvers side seat for a black box. On the back side of tha box there should be a small hole right about in the middle of it. Use a icepick or awl and hold that button in while pushing the whichever button on the remote you want to have programmed for taht car. Wait for it to beep and you should be done. I think it is a long beep.

Do you know what model MOXI box you have? The new remotes weren't programmed to the MOXI 3012 box. If you have the Moxi MP12, BMC9012, BMC 9012F, BMC 9022 you will need to program the remote to the box.

1. Turn on the Moxi STB.
2. Press and hold the MOXI and OK buttons on the remote until the red LED at the top of the remote blinks twice.
3. After the red LED has blinked twice, release both buttons.
4. Using the numeric buttons on the remote, slowly enter 0, 0, 4. The correct entry of this code will cause the red LED to blink twice.
5. The remote is now programmed to operate the Moxi STB listed above. Go to “Programming the TV”.

I am assuming that you want to know how to program your garage opener with a remote control? In that case, open up the garage opener box (its mounted on the roof). You will see a colored button in there somewhere and above it is a small light. That button is called a "learn button." Push the button and hold a button on your remote that you want to program it with and the "learn" button should flash a few times. After it starts to flash, you can release the remote and it should be programed.

To learn the ID number of additional remotes, follow these steps:

1.) Press and hold the LEARN button located on the side of the receiver (receiver will emit a continuous tone). A small blunt object must be used to depress the LEARN button (pen or screwdriver).

1.) Press any button on the remote (receiver will beep 4 times confirming that it has "learned" the ID number of the remote and that the programming is valid and complete).

REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY 99 GRAND CARAVAN
INSTALLATION: REMOVE THE TOP DASH COVER USING A FLAT TIP SCREW DRIVER AND LOCATE THE CONNECTOR FOR THE RKE MODULE. THE CONNECTOR WILL BE SMALL AND LOCATED NEXT TO THE HVAC DISTRIBUTION DUCT. MOUNT MODULE AND INSERT THE CONNECTOR. SINCE THE BODY CONTROL MODULE IS INVOLVED WITH THE RKE THIS MAY OR MAY NOT WORK BECAUSE NOT ALL CONTROLLERS ARE THE SAME BUT IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO TRY TO PERFORM THE TASK TRY THIS. FOR PROGRAMMING:
  1. Using a functional key fob transmitter, unlock the vehicle and disarm the Vehicle Theft Security System.
  2. Insert ignition key into the ignition switch.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to RUN position without starting engine.
  4. Using a functional key fob transmitter, press and hold the UNLOCK button for a minimum four seconds (maximum ten seconds)
  5. While holding UNLOCK button, and before ten seconds passes, press and release the PANIC button. A single chime will sound to verify that the RKE module is set to receive the new Vehicle Access Code(s)
  6. Within 30 seconds of the chime, press and release the "LOCK" and "UNLOCK" buttons on the transmitter at the same time. Then press any one of the buttons. The BCM will sound an abbreviated chime to acknowledge that the programming of the transmitter has been completed and was successful.
  7. Repeat step 6 for all transmitters that will be used with this vehicle (up to 4 total)
  8. Programming mode will last for 30 seconds. To get out of programming mode sooner, turn the ignition OFF. A single chime will sound to verify that the RKE module will no longer accept additional Vehicle Access Code(s)
  9. When Vehicle Access Code(s) programming is complete, turn the ignition switch to the OFF position and verify RKE system operation using each key fob
