Hi,

This error code is a long compressor run time for the freezer compartment, check the condenser to make sure its clean. Also make sure al fans are running as needed. You may need a service person if all these items are functional, as a leak in the sealed system can also cause this issue but rare to have this in both compartments.

Good Luck

SOURCE: The control panel flashes

"EC 50" means excessive refrigerator compressor run time. What is the serial number? Is the condenser fan running? Can you feel airflow from the left side up top? Is the strip between the fridge and freezer hot to the touch?

SOURCE: Sub Zero Model 680 - Light in Fridge and Control Panel out

Try wiggling light switch side to side kinda hard, (the light switch is the one on the left) it should come on, showing you its a bad lt. switch.if that fails install 1 new 40watt,(long) appliance bulb. but it is going to be the switch or the bulb considering there wasn't any wiring work done on unit. part# for the light switch is 3060140 make sure the back of the switch is white not black (black is a fan switch) Good Luck !!!

My sub zero service light and EC 24 are flashing, fridge is getting warmer...suggestions?

The ec 24 alarm is from a sensor that is located behind the freezer wall and connects to the control board in the ref. When the temp gets to a certain point the sensor will trip giving the alarm. If the temperature in the freezer is gone up but is around the 20 -30 degree F range, I would remove the grate that covers the compressor and check to see if the fan is running and if the coils are dirty. Either one of those can cause temps to go up. If the fan is running and the coils are clean, Call a service company because you possibly have a sealed system issue

The control panel flashes "EC" where the fridge temp is displayed. The word "service" is also flashing.

My Service light is blinking and there is an EC 50 code flashing. Can someone tell me how to fix the problem. I have tried turning the unit off and restarting it but the error eventually comes back.

EC50 indicates that your refrigerator is running too much. Resetting it won't help. The problem will come back within 24 hours, as the control board monitors the run time of the unit. Most likely you have a bad condenser fan motor or a freon leak. Call for service asap!
