i have windows vista on a HP pavilion and I am trying to get the modem ( Agere PCI-sv-v.92 soft modem ) modem on hold to work ?
when try to update the driver the system says that I already have the newest one
?? my ISP does support it !! can someone please tell what I need to do to make this work ? I am new to vista and this a new computer but I have a good understanding of using computers

is pc showing this modem in control panel under system icon? now try uninstalling Modem and reconnecting it and plug in phone line......if software cant detect it on boot up ...then it sounds like a defective modem.....
