Question about Olevia Televison & Video
No picture, might have a leak tv is about one and a half years old. Model #532-B12. Is this average life for this tv? Can it be repaired?
The electronics are known to go bad with these 532-B12 TV's, and if you have NO picture, that's probably what's gone wrong.
These are LCD TV's, not plasma, so they don't leak (or, if the crystal layer leaked, you'd see more of a damaged picture, as opposed to NO picture).
I've actually got one of these TV's that I dropped, and cracked the LCD, and that's exactly what happened. ...In fact, I'm looking for someone who has a TV with a good screen but bad electronics, to buy from them so I can swap the screen into mine, and so they get a couple bucks at least rather than tossing it to the curb... let me know.
I don't think that 1.5 years is long enough for a TV... the TV in my living room is almost 10 years old and working like new still. Sadly, repair costs might be more than it's worth, especially with all the deals you can find out there right now. But research it.
Let me know what you decide though, if that TV is truly broken, I will gladly give you a few bucks for it.
