Creative Zen Sleek Buttons dont Work

One day my zen's buttons just stopped working. The power button is the only thing that works, not of the other buttons(play, ff, ect) work.

I have the same problem, the Play, Previous Track, and Return buttons don't work, but the Next Track and Menu ones do. I can scroll with the touchpad, but not select. I didn't do anything to my poor MP3 player, it's just gone nuts...

I'm attempting to reset it to see what will happen, but I doubt much tbh.

I gave it a whack on the back of the MP3 player out of frustration, and lo and behold! it works fine! i don't think this is a very orthodox method, but i'm a bit happier now! I wouldn't recommend this as an everyday method of fixing it, but it's helped me.

What will I do if my CREATIVE ZEN 20G MP3 Player overhang?

Possibly not a very techical solution, but there's a tiny hole on the base, on the right. get a paperclip or something, push it into the hole and it'll turn off. charge it, possibly might need to be left for a day, then turn it back on. it will need to reload the library, but should work fine after then (this has worked for me several times, once after dropping it down a cliff...)

Don't lose hope, push the end of a paperclip into the tiny hole at the bottom of the unit. If that doesn't work, do it again while holding the play ad power buttons in at the same time. Yes, I know you need three hands to do this. That should bring up a recovery menu. First try reboot, then try clean-up. Try to avoid the other options if you don't have full back-up of all your music files.

Won't Import MP3's From Computer

Try this...Push a pin into the reset hole at the bottom of the player while at the same time holding down the play and power buttons. Next on the recovery screen that shows up, run the ":clean-ip" function. Then try again to import the music files.

The hold/lock slider is engaged - double check your manual to see the position of it on your player and disengage it

My mp3 player wont work

ok! easy solution for you^^ 1) Make sure your Zen is powered OFF. if the blue light is on and won't turn off, here's what you do: set the hold button at the top of the player to the ORANGE position, then hold your power button for 3 seconds. the keypad will flash and your player will power down. 2) push in the reset button with a pin or other fine implement. the reset button is located on the bottom of the unit, right next to the connector. your player should power up as normal now. charge it fully! your computer should be able to read it during it's charge as long as you leave it powered on^^ I hope this helps you^^

Zen sleek frozen after trying to delete songs

Why does technology make you work for what you already paid good money for? Have you tried going into Recovery Mode? You do this by holding down the Play/Pause button while triggering the Reset button. Once there, you have four options. Try selecting Disk Cleanup and then Reboot. You might need to re-Sync a few things but it's worth a shot. Good luck.
