Both outside and inside screens have gone black.

Answered a phone call on my Nokia N76 (which I've only had a little over 10 months) and both screens went black. The lights on the touchpad and the outside music controls still light up, and I can turn the phone on and off and hear the start up music when I turn it on, but have no way of navigating around with the phone. Shut it off and pulled the battery, but that didn't help. Have the phone charging now but don't think the battery is the problem. Any ideas on where to start to get it fixed? Took it in to my service provider and they were no help.
