Question about Philips 9P5034C 50" Rear Projection Television

Philips 60" R/P...

Unit was running fine,then about 1hr. while on unit lost picture, still had
control of audio & tv.

    lost pic. sound fine tv comes on and off. Is this just the lamp and if so how can I check to make sure

Shrinking and expanding or no audio/video is fairly common problem.Goto to see if they have a  repair kit.

go to and give them a call they will have the remotes for your model that do control all the functions and it wont need any reprograming since its made for your specific model tv.

There are two major possible cause. The picture tube or the power unit. I had the same problem. Fortunately it turned out to be the lesser of both evils. The power unit. The repair shop was able to rebuild a power unit for less than the price as purchasing a 32' LCD TV. Less than $400.00

check your speakers, your cables going to speakers and try to use a headset, if you hear sounds in your headset the problem is your speaker .

No picture

unfortunitly sound is one circuit ,,while all the rest makes a picture. hearing a bang could mean a capacitor exploded, your fly blew up..or even you lost a tube. you need a tech. good luck
