I am trying to reset the admin password for my two polycom VVX500's. The phones came used from another company and we don't have any way to access the admin password. Unfortunately, the new hosted VOIP provider has to access the admin functions to program the phones to their system. I have tried the infamous 4 6 8 * method multiple ways. I have tried it at power up, during application load, and even at the home screen. None of these options have worked. According to Polycom, they won't release the method to fix it because the "resellers" can charge to fix it. We need to get these reprogrammed this weekend because the new system starts next week. Can anyone walk through the admin password reset process step by step?

On the home screen, press the help button... there you will get the system option..... .. access the system settings through that...... then go to admin settings-> general settings -> home screen settings...... and select system there to get back the system option on the home screen ......

Yes. That is what I was trying was the 468 * Method, but the main issue that I have noticed is that no matter if I try it as soon as I power on the phone or if I get to the application starting screen and cancel there, I can't seem to get the prompt for password to come up for the Mac Address. Other than cancelling the application start where it says it will continue boot in 9 seconds, I don't have any sort of countdown. No matter what I have tried, the 468* method has not worked at all. Maybe I am just doing it at the wrong time, but I can't get a clear answer on that.
