PRINTER ADVANCES PAPER HALF WAY AND STOPS. IT DOES THIS WITHOUT SENDING ANYTHING TO PRINT. IT CLEARS IF THE "X" BUTTON IS PUSHED, BUT WILL RESET AND START OVER. IT ALSO MAKES A LOT OF NOISE WHEN RESETTING

it may have more to do with the type of paper and your canon printer. did you check to see that the paper is compatible with the printer specifications?
Hi, Sounds very much like the feed rollers are worn out. If you can get to them without too much trouble you can clean them up with regular rubbing alcohol and a rag which will help the paper feed. You might also want to try unpluging the printer and trying to roll the paper feed buttons by hand and seeing if a piece of paper will feed through without catching anywhere. If it does catch somewhere, then you may very well have a small piece of paper jammed in the paper path causing the jam. Good luck.
