Question about Lexmark T642 Laser Printer
I have a Lexmark T642 and it will not print text files, it just prints random characters at the top of each page and outputs about 10 extra pages each time. I have to convert my text files to postscript and ftp them to the printer, it will then print the postscript fine, but doing this is slow and annoying.
Try changing the default print language to PCL

You need to download the Postscript drivers from Lexmark site.

Sounds like there is something corrupt with the driver or the wrong driver is associated with the printer. Delete the printer from the computer, but leave attached. Download the newest driver directly from Lexmark and execute the download. The computer should then automatically re-install the printer.
please visit the link below to download the correct driver for your printer directly from Lexmark.
use the product selector to enter your model number and operating system.
