Re: Globe

I think you refering to the CRTs, but thats not your problem you have a deflection problem. Maybe one of the regulators or vertical or horizontal circuits with a little trouble shooting you should be able to fix this issue. Check the transistors.

Hi I have a ke-we50s1 that has a new globe but has no picture. It has 3 flashing red lights on the indicator. Any help appreciated / course of action. Thanks Mat

The reason your television has a 3 flashing red light is just an indicator notifying you that you have a problem in the unit.

The problem is as a result of either a bad capacitor or a faulty t-com board, and that is why you still do not have picture, even with the new globe. You can open up the television after unplugging and leaving it for some time, lets say about 1 hour. Then you assess the panels for any burnt capacitors, the capacitor will look worn out or have black stuffs on the top cap or swollen. If you do not find any faulty capacitor, then it is the t-com board that is faulty.

If you are getting sound but no picture, then it is the t-com board of the television that is faulty.

Have it replaced and the television will be in good shape once again. And if it is a capacitor that is burnt, turn the panel to the other side, then melt off the burnt capacitor with a soldering iron then replace with a new one and solder it back on with lead. Make sure you are very careful in replacing components in the television in order not to cause more damage.

Take care nd good luck

Had a feeling it was a blown globe. Found that it was when we pulled it I just have ti find where they sell new ones to replace it. I tried looking on the net from shops to manufacturers and I tell you what...they make it so that you have to call in the professionals so you pay triple the price. I will keep trying though.

sounds like the projector globe is gone. i think you will need to replace it. if you are lucky there should be a pannel on the side or rear of the tv that allows you to replace the globe. pricey though.

good luck
