it sounds like one of your tv buttons is getting stuck. And if it's the power button, then your tv would turn off. So, you would need to pull out the button after it's been used. Thank you.
That would be my guess, could also be a safety circuit detecting out of range parameters. But most likely a bad capacitor on the power supply board/module.
a power surge can do alot of damage but does your model have a fused plug? as would check this. if you have changed the power board for a know working one then the main av board has gone this is the board that tells the power board to turn on.
Email me at [email protected], I have the original box for this tv. My tv is not working correctly, but the box works fine! All the functions of the box work, although my tv is damaged. Make me an offer and the box is yours!
dont waiste your money problem main or logic board or if shure power supply go radio shack and get one with specifications match voltage, ampers, and polarity
For the majority of phillips/magnavox universal remotes: Hold code search button down till red light satys on. Press the tv button and the red light should blink and stay lit. With the tv on, push the power button repeatedly until the tv turns off.(dont push the power button again after the tv turns off or it will go to the next code). Push the mute button to save the setting.
Hi,
We purchased a phillips plasma 50" in july 06 and it cut on and off 5 or more times a day I called phillips customer service they told us it was due to the cable company they came out and changed the tv jack gave us a new box and tested the lines said everything was ok. The problem still kept happening got back to phillips and they sent us a flash drive to update the info in the tv. still kept happening told us it was due to tv being sensitive to power flutuations. well we are now 5mths out of warrenty and the power board blows up! phillips will not do anything to help the person I spoke with admitted we were given bad advice the bill was estimated at over $500 so if I were you if its still under warrenty make them send someone out to look at it, Reading up on phillips tv complaints this seems to be a common thing By the way phillips customer service sucks dont rely on them to help you much. good luck
