My printer is about 6 months old and it will not feed the paper! This is very frustrating! It will say the printer is out of paper when it is not. Its not that it messes up when youre printing several sheets, it wont even do one! Do not purchase this POS!!!!

  • I8A4RE Feb 20, 2008

wont feed either. I have gone through about two reams of plain paper and about 125 sheets of photo paper and suddenly today it decided that was it. it turns but wont feed the paper. I watch the the claws move down out of the way the feed tire leaves rub marks on he paper but it wont go in unless i push it. I tried cleaning the feed tire with just a cloth and water to remove any paper dust...no luck. Dont even attemp to dissasemble it....Nightmare!!! i am very mechanicaly inclined...but this is an engineers worst dream. I think something is catching and not alowing the paper to enter the track. It could possible have something to do w the cd tray.... I will experiment some more and see were it goes.

Re Lexmark c530dn -- until now, I've had good results with Lexmark monochrome lasers. This, our first color Lexmark (bought 2; and probably last), color printer renders fine, has occasional problems with some print jobs, but absolutely has the worst manual paper feed I've ever seen.

Paper won't feed straight.when hopper is full. Can only feed one 81/2 x 11 sheet at a time.
Bessides the guide are there any other adjustments? Can the feed roller be moved laterally?

I'm trying to live with it as the r2400 print nice but the paper feeder is terrible. Sometimes this helps :
1) Clean the grey rubber wheel at the bottom right hand side if you       look into where the paper rests. It should get more grip this way.
2) This may sound strange, but I give the paper a little help by             pushing it a bit downwards so the transport does not have to           come only from the wheel and grippers.

This printer comes with major paper feeding problems, even on the FAQ for this printer on HP's website paper feed problem is the number 1 FAQ. It either misfeeds or won't feed paper. An average example is if you try to print a 6 page report, it will missfeed about 10 sheets to print 6, and you will spend a lot of time pushing the paper feed button.

Following the guidlines in HP's faq about this does nothing to improve the situation. HP basically denies any problem with the printer and wants the consumer to pay to ship and have the printer fixed, even if it is new. They will give you phone calls and emails with a lot of PR babble, but do nothing. Stay away from this piece of junk, HP is aware there are major paper feed problems, does nothing about them, and doesn't take it off the market.

When I put the paper in, and push the refill button, the paper goes down in the printer crookid, I need help does anyone know what I could possibly do?

Leading cause of paper jams or misfeeds is debris / foreign objects that accidentally fell into the paper feed area. Please try this approach to fix the problem:

  1. Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder.
  2. Grab a flashlight and look inside the feeder for any debris or foreign objects.
  3. If you're willing and physically able, you may also carefully turn the printer over. Any debris should just freely roll out from the feeder.
  4. If feeder is clear, place the printer on the table. Open the printer cover and remove the cartridges.
  5. Check the cartridge area for any obstructions in the paper path.
  6. Close the printer cover.
  7. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - the black box where the power cord is plugged into. Re-plug after 30 seconds.
  8. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and load some paper. Try to print again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Hp LaserJet 4100 printer says its out of paper which is not the case, could someone assist me and figure what may be causes this problem? Thanks in Advance

Hi there,

Paper jams can occur in the following areas
1 Top cover and toner cartridge area
2 Optional envelope feeder
3 Input tray areas
4 Optional duplexer
5 Output areas (top and rear)
6 Fuser area

Solving repeated paper jams
* Check all the paper jam locations. A piece of paper might be stuck somewhere in the printer. Even a small torn piece of paper in the printer path can cause repeated jams.
* If using a duplexer, check all areas (including under the duplexer).
* Check that paper is correctly loaded in the trays, that all three adjustments have been made, and that the trays are not overfilled. Make sure paper is under the front and back tabs.
* Check that all trays and paper handling accessories are completely inserted into the printer. (If a tray is opened during a print job, this might cause a paper jam.)
* Check that all covers and doors are closed. (If a cover or door is opened during a print job, this might cause a paper jam.)
* Try printing to a different output bin.
* The sheets might be sticking together. Try bending the stack to separate each sheet. Do not fan the stack.
* If you are printing from tray 1, try reducing the size of the stack.
* If printing from the envelope feeder, make sure it is loaded correctly, pushing the bottom envelopes in slightly farther than the top envelopes.
* If you are printing small sizes, feed paper short edge first.
* Turn over the stack of paper in the tray. Also try rotating the paper 180°.
* Check the characteristics of the media you are using. Use only paper that meets HP specifications (see the online user guide for paper specifications). Try using different paper to see if the problem goes away. Do not use curled, deformed, damaged, or
irregular paper.
* Avoid using paper that has already been used in a printer or copier.
* Do not print on both sides of envelopes or transparencies.
* Print only on full sheets of labels and do not print on both sides of label sheets.
* Check that the power supplied to the printer is steady and meets printer specifications (see the online user guide for printer specifications).
* Clean the printer (see the online user guide procedures).

Hope this helps.
Please rate my response.
Thanks
Have a good day.

Cx3650 Problem with paper feeder

There could be an issue with the gear inside your printer now that is why it is not feeding the paper through properly anymore. Please try this basic troubleshooting steps:
Turn off the printer. Disconnect the USB cable from your printer. Open up the whole scanner unit to see if there are objects blocking the way of the printhead or if there are any objects down the paper feed area. Check if the cartridge cover is closed properly. Toggle the paper guide left to right back to the proper position. Load 10 to 20 sheets of regular paper into the printer. Turn the printer back on. Do a standalone copy.
If it does the same thing, please log on to support.epson.com. Click on help me find a service center to the right of the page to find an epson certified servicer near to your area.

Urgent! MP Feeder problem - please help!

If your application is requiring the printer to select the manual paper feeder, you will get this problem. This feature is selected different ways in different application programs and different operating systems, but usually, after you select print, there will be a popup that allows you select the number of copies, portrait or landscape mode, etc. Either here, or in a secondary popup you reach by Print Properties or Advanced or some such button, there should be a paper source selection. Select Tray 1 instead of Manual Feed.

There is also a paper source selection available from the front panel. TO select Tray 1 instead of the manual paper feed:

Menu> - Select (Paper) - Select (Paper Source)
Use the Menu> key to select Tray 1
Select - Return - Return

Sometimes, for no apparent reason, my T614 loses its mind and wants to use the manual paper feed. I turn off the printer and turn it back on again to reset it... just like Windows! I could probably use the front panel to reset the printer, but it's easier to cycle the power.

I'm betting that answering your urgent question two months later didn't help you get your very important work completed on time. I hope you are still employed.

Lexmark t640: paper jam in the back door. I can see the edge of the paper. How do I release the tension on the rollers so I can slide it out? Now it is in there tight and to grab it just tears off a piece...

Hope this helps....
Explanation of the paper jam message

A 241.09 Paper Jam message indicates that the printer thinks a sheet of paper has jammed at the front of the printer. The jammed sheet of paper is most likely to be found in one of the paper trays or under the toner cartridge.
NOTE: If you select Show areas on the operator panel, you can view one or more images to help you locate and clear the jam.

Clearing the jam
To resolve the paper jam message, you must first clear the entire paper path. To access the jam area, you will need to open one or more of the paper trays. Follow the steps in the table below to help you locate and clear the jam.
Step Action Image 1 Open the printer paper tray (tray 1), and remove any jammed media you find there. pattlnk_10222007_1922-enus28872_24109paperjam1_t64x_en_us.gif 2 Open the front cover and remove the toner cartridge. Examine the area inside the printer and remove any jammed media you find there. pattlnk_10242007_159-enus28872_24109paperjam5_t64x_en_us.gif 3 If you have a duplex option installed, also remove the duplex access tray and remove any jammed media you find there. pattlnk_10302007_1559-enus28860_24x17paperjamduplex_t64x_en_us.gif 4 If you were printing from an optional paper tray, such as tray 2 or tray 3, open any optional trays, starting at the top, and remove any jammed media. Pull the print media either up or down. If it does not pull easily one way, try the other way pattlnk_10222007_1957-enus28872_24109paperjam3_t64x_en_us.gif 5 If you are printing from an optional 2000-sheet feeder, open the front door. Press the elevator button (A) to lower the tray. Remove any partially fed media from the feeder.
NOTE: Make sure the stack of print media is straight and pushed all of the way into the feeder. Incorrectly loaded paper is the most common cause of paper jams from a 2000-sheet feeder option.
pattlnk_10222007_2110-enus28872_24109paperjam4_t64x_en_us.gif
For a larger image, click here. 6 Finally, reinstall all of the paper trays and press the pattlnk_10222007_2117-select_button.jpg button to try printing again.
NOTE: You may receive a different paper jam message informing you that another sheet of paper is jammed elsewhere in the printer. If this occurs, the error code will indicate the location. Click here for a diagram showing the error code locations. The paper path will vary, depending on the paper source and number of paper feed options installed.
Remove any jammed sheets of paper you find and try printing again.

Paper not going into the feeder wheels

got same problem.
I've tried to turn the printer upside down and to shake it.
I've tried to reset the printer.
The only solution was to remove the case, and lucky to pick up my little children toys parts from the printer :)
Unforunately the film cable is very tight and you and therefore is not a risc free operation. At least 16 screws. But a philips screw driver will make -it.
